More about the hotel
Passing thru from east coast
This hotel is in bad shape. As some others have written. Bird poop on outside door. Staff not wearing masks. Rack inside closet half way off the wall. I took pictures just in case someone doesn’t believe me. Save your money and stay at a cheaper hotel.
Superb Service
I've stayed at high-end Marriotts around the world, including the one one the Champs Elysees in Paris, but I was pleasantly surprised to receive the best service and customer care from Douglas Scott and Priscilla. Mr. Scott accommodated some special requests I had, even before check-in. Priscilla anticipated my every need and then some during my stay. The airport shuttle arrived exactly when scheduled and the park and fly option got my trip off to a wonderful start. I will definitely stay here again.
They need some help
The hotel needs a better business model. The website doesn’t clearly detailed the shuttle bus times. Then we were told the shuttle was on his way to pick us up an hour later than we were told they were closed already or stop running. Then we got to the hotel we’re supposed to get credited our stay which I still never happened call and speak to the manager they said they were going to credit our stay and I still hasn’t happened so next time I’m in town I’ll just stay somewhere else.
Wow what a staff
We checked into the hotel to stay close to airport for early morning flight. Wow what unbelievable customer service. From check in with Bryn to the next morning with Rebecca, Kathy and Panda who despite the very early morning made sure we got coffee and breakfast food. Even at 5am they did this and not supposed to start until 0700. Phenomenal!! Thank you. Marriott is lucky to have such dedicated employees!!!
Seriously, RUN
I booked a reservation at this hotel because it was close to the airport and I had an early flight out the next day. I was immediately taken aback at the room rate of $174 a night but guessed it must be a very nice property conveniently located to the airport. Was I ever wrong. First, the good. The staff was very friendly and courteous. There was even an unexpected turn down service when I returned from dinner. From there everything went off the rails. From the outside, the hotel appears somewhat nice but it ends when you walk through the front door. Your immediate impression is that this is an old property. The elevator is about the size of a broom closet. Thankfully, I didn't have a luggage cart. When the elevator door opened, there was a vacuum cleaner inside. And I noticed that the carpet in the elevator was very soiled. That's not a good feeling to begin your stay. The hallways are very narrow and dimly lit which gives you the feeling that rooms in this place should be rented by the hour. More on that later. I entered the room and immediately noticed that the kitchen cabinets were very cheap. I would expect something like that in a mobile home. The bed may have been a queen but it was closer to a double I think. The bathroom was very small in comparison to the property I stay at more frequently in Lafayette, IN. The neighborhood surrounding this property is horrible - very, very low on the socioeconomic scale. I had to travel several miles from the hotel to find an area I felt safe getting out of the car to eat. There is a convenience store right on the corner and the clientele give you a good characterization of the surrounding neighborhoods. Then, the cherry on top was my experience at 4:30 AM when I awoke for my flight. There was no hot water. After running for three minutes, I finally got some very luke warm water to shower. I couldn't shave because the water was too cold. I notified the front desk person of this situation when I checked out but didn't have time to get into a discussion about it due to my early flight. I asked for a rate adjustment due to the hot water situation but then still received a bill for $174 plus tax. This is an $89 a night property and that's being generous. Marriott should be ashamed to have it's name our front. Business travelers....RUN!!
