The best beds, large king room

When our flight was canceled, American Airlines put us up at Holiday Inn Express South DFW. We appreciated the complimentary shuttle service to and from the hotel and airport. Although the lobby was under construction, the clerknwas very friendly, helpful, and had a wonderful attitude which was appreciated in our stressful situation. There were six in our party, so three rooms of two each. 401. 424, 426. The rooms were gorgeous, large, and the bed was one of the most comfortable I've had in a while. There are only a couple negatives: the toilet needed a plunger after first use (rooms 426 and 424). Values front desk and there was no maintenance crew on duty. She offered a different room or she had a plunger. My husband picked up the plunger and took care of both rooms. May be a plumbing issue? The other is more of a suggestion. Breakfast bar doesn't open until 630 am, which a lobby full of people waiting for the 6 am shuttle. Maybe open earlier? Overall, a great location with the best beds
An Off-Night for Holiday Inn Express

Maybe I just visited on a bad night, but did not have a great experience at this Holiday Inn Express. On the plus side, the room was nice and clean and the price was right and I would say those are the most important qualities. However, I had to call 3 times before getting anyone to answer the phone when I went to request the hotel shuttle to pick me up at DFW. At first I thought maybe I had the wrong number, but someone finally did pick up on the third call and then I was put on hold for over 3 minutes. After, I requested the shuttle, I waited a half hour and the shuttle still had not shown up. Luckily, a driver from another nearby hotel was nice enough to take me to the Holiday Inn (and FYI, in case this makes you want to Uber instead...the next day, another guest told me they took Uber from the airport to this hotel, which is really only a few miles, and it cost $38). After I finally arrived, check-in was pretty fast. But as I walked toward the elevator, I was told by another guest that it wasn't working. So I had to lug my bag up the steps. Had a pretty good night's sleep. The bed was pretty comfortable, tv had good selection of channels. Comfortable shower (separate from the sink area which was outside the bathroom). But then, when I really wanted a cup of tea in my room, the coffeemaker was broken. I was able to get some tea in the morning in the breakfast room, which I actually was pretty impressed with. They had their usual hot breakfast, cinnamon rolls, etc. I was also able this time to get the shuttle back to the airport. Buckle up! It was not a comfortable ride at all. The driver was speeding around every turn and every bump I thought I was going to bounce right up to the ceiling. If I ever get stuck at the Dallas airport again, I'm going to try staying somewhere else.
Overall a pretty good experience.

There was major renovations going on when we visited so I'm not going to hold that against them. The room was very spacious and clean with one exception. There was something small left on the nightstand that had attracted some ants. It wasn't anything major but still should have been cleaned up whatever it was. Other than that though the room was clean. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was pretty good. The staff was friendly. Nothing spectacular but I certainly wouldn't have a problem staying again.
Would stay here again

Totally enjoyed our 3-day stay. All staff were friendly and courteous. Rooms were recently remodeled so were clean and bright, Room had refrigerator and microwave. WiFi was good. We were, however, disappointed that rooms were not cleaned daily, so we had to request towels the second day. Breakfast was good with many choices. Hotel very close to airport. Also close to many good restaurants, including fast food. Red Lobster is adjacent to hotel. Staff recommended restaurant, Aspen Creek, very close and very good. When in Dallas, we will stay here again

I tried this hotel again after I’d heard it had new management and better service. Well you can put lipstick on a pig and it’s still a pig. Spent AN HOUR on the airport shuttle because the driver decided to stuff is like sardines. We visited the same terminal 4x until he finally found people to pick up, ridiculous. Never again, they cuss at their customers and really don’t care at all. Also the shuttle is nasty, trash and dirt everywhere and the exterior isn’t any better.
