The company that invited us to Istanbul, booked us a hotel room for 2 nights. We needed one more night and I booked it on Wednesday February 26th on Booking.com. We arrived at the hotel on Monday February 24th at 9pm. At the reception desk, we were served by Emad, he was very kind and friendly. I immediately told him, that we booked an extra night on Wednesday 26 and showed my email with a notification from Booking.com. To our surprise, he said that the company booked for us 3 nights, but unfortunately we can’t cancel booking.com. He recommended contacting the company that invited us for clarification. Our room was a bit stuffy, we turned on the air conditioning and kept waking up almost all night from the terrible smell of cigarettes, probably carried by the ventilation system. The noise of the streets was also heard and the curtains on the windows swelled from the wind-the windows were closed! In our room there was also an ashtray on the table Unfortunately, we realized that our room is a smoking room ( the other day we saw guests who smoked in the hallway and even outside their rooms in front of the elevator!!!). Next day, when I went down to the reception desk to find out whether it was possible to change the room, there was already a person with the same problem, I heard the receptionist advised him to change the hotel. We decided to tolerate, as our stay wasn’t long and there was no time to change hotels. In the evening I decided to go to the pool, where two ladies informed me that the Turkish Ministry of Health did not allow visiting the pool without a rubber cap and offered to buy this cap from them. I have two questions: Why is this information not available on the hotel website? and why does the Ministry of Health forbid access to swimming pools without a hat? But, doesn’t oblige hotels to provide non-smoking rooms, which should be located in separate parts of the hotel from smoking rooms? The icing of the cake was waiting for us on Wednesday, February 26, we were sitting in the hotel lobby and waiting for our tour operator - it was from 12:30 to 1:30. When the guide came to pick us up, we were stopped by someone that shouted at us very rude, which was from the front desk (I didn’t remember his name because of I was shocked). He turned to us very rudely and aggressive manner: do you speak English? Come here !!! Then, his English was broken, he accused us of not paying for the hotel and we can’t leave until we paying !!!!! Our stay ended today and we had to check out at 12pm. On Tuesday, February 25th, I spoke with the company that invited us, but they assured me that we only have 2 nights. Returning to the hotel, I went to the reception again to Emad, but he continued to assure me that company booked the stay for 3 nights and we have to check out on Thursday, adding on, that I could not cancel Booking.com. I was confused! On Wednesday, we were accused of that we were escaping without paying. I showed this receptionist my confirmation email from Booking.com, and said that I showed it on the day of arrival. To which this gentleman replied that “this Booking.com is worth nothing and we have to pay”. My husband paid with his credit card, then we found that the amount of the hotel withdrew from his card was greater than the amount on Booking.com. ( Booking.com shows $66, then hotel charges $100) . Well, we got our experience and hardly don’t recommend this Elite World Prestige as a good hotel, and hospitality place to stay, especially, we do not trust Booking.com anymore.
Good but can be better

It was my third time that I come to Istanbul, elit world prestige was actually better than other four stars hotels that i had stayed. Breakfast was acceptable and sufficient but I didn't like the cleanliness of my room, there was dust on chairs and other staffs. Another problem was the warmth of water in the morning for taking shower, but the water became hot lately. I recommend this hotel in four stars hotel rate in Istanbul.
