Wonderful Hotel on edge of Hippodrome
This hotel is absolutely wonderful and I can't recommend highly enough. With only 24 rooms, it is charming, beautifully decorated, and has an incredible rooftop terrace with immediate view of the Blue Mosque and, if you stand at the back, a simultaneous view of both Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque as well as the Bosphorus accompanied by the sounds of the deep blasts of passing ships and the cries of the gulls that wheel overhead. Beautiful! The staff is amazing at this hotel, every last one of them. They make fantastic recommendations for food, all kinds of outings, travel agents and more. The downstairs lounge areas have fireplaces and are wonderful. The hotel itself does not serve more than a great breakfast spread every morning but on more than one occasion the staff provided me with plates of fruit, olives, cheese and bread to eat later in the day. They make restaurant recommendations and will order your food to be delivered during these trying times (when restaurants can only serve take-out food). I booked a deluxe room which was bigger than the standard and came with a sitting area and a balcony out onto the street across from the Museum of Islamic Arts. Big rain shower in the lovely bathroom as well as a very large walk-in closet. A fantastic location with very easy walks through Sultanahmet and beyond. The staff recommended a great travel agent nearby to book my day trip to Edirne (Selimiye Mosque). I have no complaints whatsoever about the Ibrahim Pasha hotel. The hotel was a very large part of a wonderful 10 day stay in Istanbul on my own. I didn't think it was possible to have such a wonderful time abroad at this point when Covid regulations are becoming more and more strict.
Great hotel, perfect location and awesome staff!
The title hopefully says it all, but the hotel staff were really the cherry on the top. I arrived early into Istanbul, and expected I would have to drop my bags and leave, but I was able to get access to my room, and was offered the best breakfast. Very good personal service and would highly recommend a stay here. Definitely coming back!
Great location and helpful staff
This small hotel is very well located in the Sultanahmet district. It is less than 5 minutes walk to the Blue Mosque, and other tourist attractions (Hippodrome, Aya Sofya & Hippodrome) are very close. If you want to get to other parts of Istanbul then there is a tram stop 5- 10 minutes walk away. For us the best thing about the hotel was the staff. Reception staff give you good advice and tips to make the most of your stay. At the buffet breakfast nothing is too much trouble and you can set yourself up for the days sightseeing. Our room was comfortable and tastefully furnished.
Characterful hotel, well located for Sultanahmet and for tram stops
Quietly situated on a back street, but right next to the hippodrome, Ibrahim Pasha offers an intimate experience, especially for first time visitors, for whom Sultanahmet must surely be the main draw. The staff are personable and efficient; rooms serviced daily ( including a laundry service); a lovely roof top terrace/bar with fantastic views over the Bosphorus and the sea of Marmara. We had a de-luxe room, which I felt was worth the extra expense - certainly if you are staying for more than a couple of days. This gives extra space, plus a walk in closet - in which the mini-bar is also located. A few little details do require attention. New wooden window blinds, for example. (some slats were broken) would be good, and also hooks in bathroom on which to hang clothes, for example.....but this would not stop me from wholeheartedly recommending this hotel. If I visit Istanbul again ( this was my second visit) I'd stay in Beyoglu, rather than Sultanahmet, though. Whilst great for those wanting to see the ancient sites, it is very touristic and you do get hassled at every turn. Also, it is harder to find good, independent, licensed bars and restaurants than it is in Beyoglu.
Wonderful hotel, great location
An absolutely lovely hotel, very friendly and helpful staff, nice decor. There's a fabulous rooftop terrace on the top floor with a view of the Blue Mosque! The breakfast was great as well - a really nice selection. Everyone was very punctilious about wearing masks in public areas, and it was clear they take every COVID-related precaution. The location was perfect as well - close to all Sultanahmet landmarks. Fabulous!
