Not 5 star hotel where male arrogance of reception staff is not the best introduction to the hotel
Reviewed 21 october, 2021
This is not 5 star standard. We were two women traveling together who did not wish to share a bed. The receptionist told us at 12.30pm on check in there was no twin room available. The attitude was take it or leave it.Quite rude to say the least. We called our Turkish contacts who send all their clients to this hotel. Miraculously a twin room became available though not until 2pm. This room was not particularly clean. The carpet was dirty and smelly. It was also annoying that prices for example were 28 tl at the bar but they never had the 2 tl change. Same with room service something costing 125tl no change..... I know it's very small money and I probably would have given them more in a tip but I felt I was constantly being ripped off. As I felt like I was being done every time I ordered anything I didn't tip in the way I normally do. In the spa the same thing. Having had a really good massage, and just wanting to relax and enjoy my 'chilled' state I wanted to put the massage on my hotel tab.... No I hadn't brought cash to the spa with me. They then insisted I go back in the lift from the bowels of the hotel to my room and return with cash. Had I not had cash I was told to get some! I am sorry but this is not 5 star service. The breakfast was basic with many stale items reappearing each morning like stale mini croissants and pancakes so hard on the edges impossible to eat. Freshly squeezed orange juice and good coffee were the highlights. However the staff though didn't have much English were incredibly helpful and friendly. They were dealing with people of many nationalities and doing it well. On the plus side
Modern hotel with excellent indoor swimming pool
Reviewed 8 september, 2021
This hotel had modern decoration although some amenities were lacking. There were no electrical outlets in the bathroom and when I removed my room card to leave the room, the air conditioning shut off, making the room too warm when I would return. The indoor swimming pool on the ground floor was the best indoor pool of any hotel I have ever stayed at. It was described as 20 meters, but I think it might have been only 18 meters. This was a very good hotel, but just short of five stars.
Poor service, wifi and AC not working
Reviewed 23 may, 2021
I checked in and the receptionist didn’t look at me or say hello, “passport please” then silence, after 5 minutes she handed me the key card, “this is your room“. Even though it is a pandemic and each customer counts they can’t be bothered with basic human decency of greeting, or smile. I never got a tour or even told anything about the hotel. I’m not sure if there is free breakfast, etc. I had a 5 day stay booked. It was too hard to change, so I had no choice. The wifi in my room rarely connect for more than 1-2 hours at a time and when it does it is too slow to do basic tasks —go on Facebook or send email. (See photo) Rooms are big, hotel interior is very nice. Reception service is bad and not fluent in English or basic phrases like “my AC is not working”. Hotel technology (AC and Internet) are poor. 2 days later the weather became cold outside, and noticed my room became warm. I dialed 0 on my hotel phone, someone with limited English told me the hotel shutdown the air conditioner to the building. My room was still hot so I asked front desk, he said I can “go to a different hotel if I want air conditioning
Great hotel, loved it!

Sad we were only here for 2 nights. We made the mistake of leaving to stay at the hotel across the road for another 3 nights to save some money! This is easily the best hotel we've stayed at in Turkey! The restaurant on level 18 has a great view and the food was very nice, very helpful staff too! The rooms are so nice and the bathroom was probably the nicest hotel bathroom I have ever seen. If we return to this area we would definitely stay at this establishment again! (We made a travel vlog about our time at this hotel and Besiktas which you can find on YouTube Hannah & Gordon's World Tour).
Mr. Taygun helped me so much

I stayed at the Point Hotel for two nights. I am American and my Turkish language is limited. I had excellent customer service from Mr. Taygun. His English skills were very good. When I needed to change my Turkish Airlines flight, he spent 15 minutes on the telephone to change my flight. Then, I needed to change my hotel reservation in Trabzon. I tried to change it online but the website did not allow it. Again, Mr. Taygun was there to help me. He called Trabzon and fixed my hotel reservation. He helped me check out and I really appreciate his help.
