Excellent location, right in the heart of Taksim area, 3 to 5 minutes walk from the main Taksim Square, all the shopping, restaurants, night life... I stayed with 4 friends in the two-bedroom apartment, staff and owner are so friendly and exceptionally helpful, excellent service and always available whenever you call. Highly recommended!
Good place but poor customer service especially by the OWNER
We booked a 2-bedroom flat at Taksim Home Flats through a third-party online, which advertised the flat as having 2 bathrooms. Upon arrival (and taking 4 flights of stairs to reach the 4th floor - no elevator), we came to discover there was only ONE bathroom. This was a huge disappointment, as there were 5 of us and only one bathroom to share! This place was very difficult to find at first -even though it is in a very convenient area, not hard to find at all-. It turned out that they had not updated their address on the website, and the address I had was their OLD address, before their street name was changed!!! Our poor driver spent at least 40 minutes trying to find this place with no luck. We had to actually get out of our vehicle and walk up and down the nearby streets in the summer heat, asking strangers if anyone knew where this place was located. I brought up the bathroom issue with the employee at the front desk, but she was of no help. I had previously attempted to contact the owner to double check that there were indeed 2 bathrooms at the apartment, and to make sure everything was as advertised, but he never responded to his emails nor ever picked up his phone. On our second day, the front desk called saying they could move us to one of their other buildings? with no mention of its exact location nor any further information! She also said that we would have to move there in the early morning (and not at any other time) if we wished to make the change. This meant we would have to cancel our plans for that entire day, and spend it "moving" instead!! Quite ridiculous. By our third day, the toilet had stopped working and the bathroom became flooded. It was disgusting, to say the least. We were told by front desk that it would be fixed as soon as we left the apartment for the day; however, that did not happen. Instead, it was fixed one and a half days later. Another very disappointing incident was that the cleaning lady had mistaken a plastic bag with a blouse in it, for a trash bag -apparently- and threw it out! When I complained about this to the owner (who had finally returned from vacation?), he was extremely rude about it. He first attempted to defend the cleaning lady, saying that she would not make such a mistake and that I must be imagining that the blouse was in the bag..?!? I insisted that the blouse, was a very thin, white light blouse that could easily be mistaken for (tissues, perhaps?) and that the bag was definitely not in the apartment. At this point, he "told" me to follow him, so that we could go confront the cleaning lady together..!? In the end, he told me that if I insisted that my blouse had been thrown out with the trash, that its cost would be deducted from the cleaning lady's pay. I could not believe what I was hearing. The flat was clean (upon arrival), spacious, and ideally located near Taksim square/Subway (2 minute walk).
A pleasant stay
We stayed at the Taksim Home Flats for 4 nights in March 2013. The apartment that we were provided was quite a good one, we did not expect to get such a cosy apartment, it was a one-bedroom apartment, though not so big in size, but yet was comfortable. It is centrally located, just 5-8 minutes walk to Istiklal street and Taksim Subway. The apartment are provided with a good cable TV, air-conditioner and heating system. The staff was very helpful, always trying to help whenever there was a need for that. I believe the same kind of room and services would be as twice as expensive in hotels in Istanbul. I would recommend it to everyone, for the price that we paid for the apartment, it is a very good deal.
We had a very nice stay. The staff were very helpful and supportive. I would definitely recommend this hotel to all who wants to be around Taksim Square! The rooms are very homely! :) I would definitely rate this hotel as one of my favorite stays in Turkey in Istanbul.
Taksim Home Flats, Istanbul
With exception of some confusion about the property we booked on first night (which was quickly remedied next morning) the accomodation of the Kings Suite was excellent. Quiet street near the central square, excellent restaurants nearby. Staff were so helpful and provided bowl of fruit and a complementary breakfast. Ideal sleeping accomodation for three adult family siblings who wanted their own sleeping and bathing space. TVs, fridge, washing machine all new. Great value for money too. Thoroughly recommended.
