Awesome Experience!

We recently spent three nights at the Inn at Ellis River. The inn is lovely, and offers every comfort and convenience. We stayed in the Pearl Cascade Room, which has a balcony overlooking a picturesque stream. The owners, John and Mary, along with the innkeeper, Christine, work tirelessly to make every guest feel welcome and valued. They are so friendly and attentive. And John’s breakfasts are THE best you will find anywhere!! This was by far our favorite of all of the places we stayed on our New England vacation. We would love to return sometime!

River View for Breakfast for the Win!

So much to say, so few characters! Mary and John (along with Christine) were great! The location of the inn was awesome, their River view was sweet, and their Breakfasts were Incredible (just realize that Tuesday is not there on Wednesday! #InsideJoke My wife and I just couldn’t stop referring back to our time here on our New England fall foliage swing. Def one of our top B&B stays all-time!

What a wonderful place to stay! We just got back from our first trip to see Fall colors and one of the highlights was certainly staying at the Inn at Ellis River. The room was beautiful! The breakfast each morning was made to order, hot and delicious! What a great way to start the day! Our room was beautifully decorated, quiet and clean!! The grounds near the river are so calm and serene. All the people working at the Inn were so pleasant and helpful. I certainly hope to return. It is in an ideal location for having a wonderful fall foliage trip, or any trip near the White Mountains. I highly recommend and hope to visit again!!

Comfortable, well-located and lovely hosts & staff

Our two nights at the Inn at Ellis River were the highlight of our lodging experiences during a last-minute leaf peeping trip October 2021. Folks are right, this is an attractive, comfortable inn in a terrific location to access the best features of the White Mountains, and Mary and John are consummate professionals who work hard to provide excellent and friendly travel support. Important and gratifying: Mary and John have had the same staff for years because they pay a fair wage and support their employees through annual low booking periods and unexpected closures like the pandemic. Common area amenities that were especially nice included the Adirondack chairs by the river (be sure to make time to sit out there!) and the refrigerator for storing road trip snacks and restaurant doggie bags. Yes, the breakfasts are ample and delicious, and the afternoon cookies and all-day coffee/tea service are nice touches. We liked our stay in the Franconia Falls room. It's on the first floor just steps from the dining room and other common areas. It has a nice patio, fireplace and jetted tub (with shower, too), and the furnishings are classy. The room was very quiet except for the occasional noise of someone going up/down the adjacent stairs to the second floor. The only minor negative was the in-room sink with mirror was a bit awkwardly positioned, requiring a tall man to stoop while shaving. Who needs to shave on vacation?! If any reader is going to New England this fall 2021, note that eating out is a constant challenge due to high demand vs. supply compromised by pandemic closures and labor shortages. To the extent you can reserve ahead, go for it! If not, you will need to be patient and flexible in dealing with meals OR hit a grocery and buy your own easy-make provisions. All in all, can't say enough good things about the Inn at Ellis River. Thanks, Mary and John!

Cozy Inn! Great location! Fantastic staff!

My wife and I had a wonderful stay this past Saturday and Sunday night at the Inn at Ellis River. Rooms were nice, cozy, and comfortable. Innkeepers, Mary and John are friendly hosts and make sure things are just right. Christine was so accommodating over the phone when we had to change dates twice and is super friendly and attentive. Breakfast is fantastic! Truly a team effort and everything was so good! We enjoyed talking to both John and Mary as well as other travelers, while sipping on cocktails in their cozy bar. Location is perfectly situated for day trips to sight seeing locations, hiking, dining and shopping. We look forward to our next stay!
