Basic Hotel Experience — Clean and Comfortable Room
Reviewed 14 october, 2021
I only spent one night here — the room showed its age a bit (although there was, it seemed, a new, modern shower) and the cooling unit was noisy — but, the room was very clean and met my needs. The dining area is spacious and clean — basic assortment of breakfast buffet foods. All good!
Felt cheap. No soap.

I won’t stay here again. I checked in on my phone app but still stopped by the front desk when I arrived and got card keys. (Actually the card keys were sort of tossed to me across the high counter but whatever.) The TV in my room didn’t work. When I called the front desk she suggested I unplug it and plug it back in. Doing so allowed me to realize that the HDMI cable wasn’t plugged into anything. Fixed that. The bathroom sink (tiny with little counter space) had one lotion and two make up wipes for me. No hand soap. I am the sort of weirdo who keeps a bar of hotel soap in my travel bag so I used it. When I left the first morning, I put a note on the counter asking for a bar of soap. When I came back 10 hours later, my room hadn’t been touched. I have no idea why I didn’t get housekeeping. Or a bar of soap. I had my travel bar so I didn’t go to the front desk to get another. The point is I shouldn’t have had to. At breakfast the first morning the offering was eggs, pork sausage, and turkey sausage. The pork sausage looked terribly undercooked. The eggs were watery but tasted ok. The second morning the signs were the same but the pork sausage bin had bacon in it. A bright spot for the trip! Staff that I saw (front desk only) wore masks, as I did. I didn’t see a single guest with a mask but I don’t blame the hotel for that. The shower was spacious and the toiletry bottles in there were full. There are nicer locations in Jeff City, including another Marriott brand. I’ll choose one of them next time.

Ice maker broken, room 127 TV didn’t work and 45 min later with multiple ‘ resetting’ and offer to bring a different one which never came, we asked the (polite but ineffective) night employee to just drop it and let us get to bed (10pm-10:45);drain in vanity sink stopped up, toilet wouldn’t flush (reported to morning employee at 7:30am, said housekeeping would fix at 9am when they came on duty, never came) Coffee in room terrible, didn’t drink, went to breakfast room to drink coffee but it was so watery we asked the (polite) young lady to make a fresh pot which she did, but didn’t remove the watery pot from the counter. We were afraid to shower in am knowing that water wasn’t draining well so we packed up unbathed and moved to our daughter’s. We had hoped to find a place we could stay on our frequent visits to Jeff City but it won’t be your hotel.
Great place! Great people!

Visited there for a short weekend trip. Joe and Makayla helped with everything we needed and made our stay amazing!! I highly recommend this place if you are in the area (also close to some great shopping:).
