My husband and I came here for a coastal getaway from the Bay Area within a couple hours drive. The views are as wonderful as advertised. We had perfect weather and took advantage of the many benches placed around the property to take in the views. There is a boat landing next door, where I observed that families had headed down to the small beach. Our room was rustic and cozy and the fireplace acted as a heater. The slate tiled shower was really enjoyable and we slept great here. Breakfast both mornings was very good. I got the french toast twice. Do make reservations if you plan on having dinner on property. The hotel is quite remote, so there are not many other options around. We had reservations for our first night and had planned to get dinner in Bodega Bay the second night. But upon arrival, we just wanted to spend our full second day on property, so we chose to have dinner at the hotel. The only reservation available was too late for us, so we opted for room service. (They do offer the full restaurant menu for room service, which is nice if you find yourself in a pinch). We made use of the in-room record player and board games in the lobby, while enjoying drinks from the bar. We took hot tea out to the firepit one evening and made nice conversation with another couple. This place is really relaxing. Plan to just take in the views and the air and do some coastal exploring. I'd say that's really the point of this place. It's cozy and warm and was great for two days. Any longer and you likely want to plan some things to do off-property. Room price was high, but that was true of everywhere I looked in California, lately. But note that there weren't any little extra charges like resort fee, parking, internet, mandatory svc charge that can add up at some other resorts. So the price is pretty transparent. Meals and drinks are a la carte, but I felt the item prices were within reasonable expectations for this resort. My advice is to understand what you're getting and decide if you are comfortable with the current market price. I knew to expect a lodge feel that would be comfy and cozy with amazing views and one restaurant. That's exactly what was delivered. Not surprisingly (this is Sonoma County), wine is a feature of the bar menu and though they have a full bar, there is no cocktail list. My husband chose some dark spirits for sipping, but don't expect to find a hip cocktail program here. They were kind to accommodate me while pregnant and offer me a fun mocktail. There were couples, families, and lots of dogs at the resort when we stayed. I love dogs, so they all make me happy, but keep that in mind if you have any phobias or allergies.
Wonderful trip for our Anniversary

We had the pleasure of returning for our annual trip to Timber Cove for our anniversary. Once again, it was a wonderful stay. This year dinner waiter was simply outstanding! He made the dining event so pleasurable. He really went out of his way to make the experience truly fabulous. One very small disappointment was that in the past, the bar had a special cocktail menu, but this was not available this year. However, this is a very minor issue, and again, the experience was tremendous.
A time to relax .

Cali coast. Highway One. Sun. Sea. Fog . Perfect . My husband and I live south of Sonoma coast and needed a place to relax that is uncomplicated. This is what we discovered . We are grateful for this experience. The only way to make it better would be outside hot tubs.
