No breakfast...WHAT?

Reviewed 20 november, 2021

No breakfast...WHAT?? This property has had several chain hotel brand iterations over the years, had stayed at this location before several times. The renovations/upgrades are overall well done, though the studio King is small, and the open-air sink just about in the middle of the room is awkward. Impossible to use it in the a.m. without waking your significant other. Floors are faux hardwood, with no throw rugs so chilly on a cold late Fall morning. Toilet/shower stall is tight, might be claustrophobic for a large person. There was mildew above the toilet in our bathroom. My main complaint is that the website promised breakfast, but on arrival we were told that there is no breakfast due to Covid. I've taken a screenshot of the site's breakfast listing, and will attach it if possible, but am going to ask the front desk for a discount on the room. For a one night charge of $186. plus taxes (total around $218), I expect breakfast. It's not like there's a restaurant attached to the property - there isn't. Breakfast options are blocks away, and added expense. The COVID excuse is lame at this point - this hotel had very lax to no masking policy, the bar was full of twenty- and thirty-somethings when we came back at 10:00 pm last evening, so there's just no excuse for not offering something that the website promised. Have booked a bunch of Marriott Bonvoy properties for a two-week December trip, but am going to cancel any that don't offer the promised breakfast. It'll take time to phone each property, but I estimate it's worth $30 - $40 for two persons, so...Other chains at this price point are offering breakfast. Marriott Bonvoy should be too.

Comfortable stay and convenient location

Reviewed 25 october, 2021

Our room was small but clean and cozy. The bed was firm and comfortable, but the pillows were a little too soft. I so glad I brought my own pillow. The bathroom was nice and modern looking. The rain shower shower head was a nice surprise. There were plenty of mirrors and outlets and the lighting was good. The floor was kind of like a hard wood instead of carpet so noises weren't muffled. I don't know if they had staffing shortages, but no one cleaned our room the first or second day we were there. That was fine with us. Our room wasn't dirty and we could make our own bed ourselves. The last time we stayed there was over 10 years ago and it was called the Q Hotel. I liked the renovations they've made. It had a nice modern look to it. I also like that the hotel was small and not super large. There was plenty of room in the parking lot. We really liked that this was right in Westport. It was so close to all the shops and restaurants that we could just walk to them from the hotel. This is our favorite hotel to stay at when we're in Kansas City.

Good option in KC

Reviewed 7 october, 2021

We stayed at the AC Hotel due to its relatively close proximity to Arrowhead and retail shops. It is walkable to some restaurants which is great. Overall, the property is good but I wouldn’t say great. That said, the staff was friendly and accommodations were good. This is a reliable spot to stay at in KC.

Great Hotel and Kind Staff

Reviewed 4 october, 2021

This hotel goes above and beyond! We set up a block of rooms with Jackie for a memorial service. This was a bit last minute as you can imagine, and we were absolutely taken care of in a kind and professional manner.

Great little hotel Walk to everything. Free parking!

Reviewed 19 september, 2021

Super nice staff. European style micro-tel with everything we needed and not a lot we didn’t. Furnishings are modern but not too trendy Walkable to everything in Westport and we even walked to the Uptown for a concert- less than a mile. And…Free Parking! I liked the size of this hotel- not too big. A very nice lobby bar was closed on a Tuesday night and same with the hotel breakfast room unfortunately.
