Beauty and the Beast

Reviewed 18 october, 2022

I agree with previous comments so will try and give useful tips. Room 213 Majestic views (Beauty) Busy and unlit rd (Beast) Can be daunting for some! Caldera view is spectacular (west facing SUNSET) but road noise. Rooms on other side view Distant Aegean and quieter. Bus station 10 mins brisk walk Fascinating and calamitous with full buses NOW can’t imagine it at peak time of year) Very cheap 1.6 euros each way! Cash Beers are around 7 euros generally Food is pretty average if truth be told when out and about and the Hotel won’t be beaten in this respect as far as I’m concerned. There is a new brewery 400 metres away ( 13 months old) where you can tour and sample the beer and dine We didn’t tour but sampled the beer and dined I recommend it! This Hotel is tremendous value for money and just far enough away from the busy centre if you can put up with the busy road. The hard working staff will do anything to please you and yes, you can find fault in any hotel but I would recommend the Majestic Hotel Supermarket nearer

Tranquil, friendly and beautiful

Reviewed 10 october, 2022

What a friendly and well-run luxurious place to stay. Well-located for Fira but also with views over both sides of the island. Such friendly and helpful staff, I cannot rate it highly enough. 2 lovely pools (1 heated), good food and excellent cocktails. Reception staff willing to sort anything for you. Lovely treatments in the spa. When they heard we were getting married they absolutely spoilt us, will definitely be returning

Sunny Santorini

Reviewed 25 september, 2022

Returned from our holiday in beautiful Santorini two weeks ago. The Majestic Hotel is first class and situated about a 10 minute walk in a peaceful location away from the hustle and bustle of Thira. We received excellent customer service from all staff during our stay, all were very friendly and wanted to make sure you had a great holiday experience. The hotel is very unusual in design. We had a sea view room with a staircase up to our room. There was so much room to store all your holiday belongings. It was very clean and it was a nice gesture from the hotel to receive a bottle of wine in the room on arrival and a surprise free facial which I really enjoyed. Excellent choice at the breakfast buffet though they could invest in a new toaster as it was very slow! However this is a very minor point and you are on holiday so can wait! We had a couple of meals by the pool bar which were very tasty and had we had more time would have eaten in the dining room in the evening, however we liked a walk into town and to sample the food on offer in the different tavernas. The swimming pool was the largest I've every swam in on holiday so did plenty of lengths for exercise each day and to cool down as it was very hot during our stay. The swimming pool area was peaceful and there were always plenty of sunbeds for everyone and nobody was allowed to reserve their favourite ones each day. Well done to all at the Majestic Hotel for making our stay so memorable.

5 Star Hotel with 5 Star Staff

Reviewed 11 september, 2022

Well, what can I say.... my husband and I had the most wonderful time at the Majestic Hotel yet again. We were there approx. 12 years ago, and the hotel surpassed our expectations on our return trip. We were there to celebrate our Ruby Wedding Anniversary and to attend my sister's wedding on the island. The hotel had a bottle of sparkling wine waiting for us on arrival which was so very thoughtful. The hotel is in the most beautiful location on the outskirts of the town and all the hustle and bustle. It is a lovely 10-minute stroll looking across at the Caldera. The hotel is such a tranquil and calming place, and the rooms are huge ..we stayed in room 211 overlooking the Caldera and couldn't have been happier with the attention to detail in decor and rooms are immaculately cleaned each day. Our housekeeper a blonde-haired lady, whose name we didn't get was just so lovely and really helpful. Pool area is so well maintained and constant attention from the staff to check if you require anything. Always beds available (comfiest I have ever been on) with numerous clean towels always to hand. Bar menu was so lovely and great portions. The memory I feel we will take away is not just the beauty and location of hotel but without doubt the 5 star plus goes to all the staff. From staff at Reception to young women and men who served at breakfast and poolside bar to George who produced amazing cocktails and the great housekeepers. We had a slight issue on our first day when my husband had his wallet stolen in the town. I cannot thank Elina, Christiana and all the staff for their help and support when this occurred from helping us to make phone calls to cancel cards etc. to taking us in hotel minibus to and from police station. This didn't detract from our holiday as it could have done as the staff were so upset for us. Finally, I have never in years of travel abroad and to 5-star hotels ever known a manager such as Elina who was so visible at all times of the day constantly checking on her guests. that they were happy and had everything they required and who gave me the hugest hug when we left. I promise we will be highly recommending the hotel and most definitely will return. Thanking you again Eileen and Neil x

Evening Restaurant food delicious !

Reviewed 11 september, 2022

This is the most peaceful pool I have ever sunbathed in , the sun beds are like beds , no one is allowed to reserve but there is always a bed as staff remove towels if left too long , all you can hear is the hum of the filters and people breaking wind ! Few more spare sunshades would be nice around the smaller pool area . The hotel is on a busy road which is a bit annoying walking into Town as the island does not seem to accommodate pedestrians . Maybe a hourly hotel shuttle / minibus would help ? The rooms were clean , ours was in the shade so if that is not your thing mention it on booking . The poolside food was delicious and large enough to share one portion . The evening restaurant was amazing , it was never busy sadly , if you need to escape the sunset squashes of the town highly recommend it here - best food we had on holiday . Maybe a free bottle of wine would entice people in , it also needs to look less formal , more relaxed and Greek . Staff are friendly and helpful . More large shrubs and plants poolside restaurant area and comfy chairs would be nice , the ones there are uncomfortable when eating lunch . Booked through TUI and never saw a single rep all holiday , the hotel staff helped more , so book direct with hotel and save money . Bigger signage would help around the hotel . Santorini is a beautiful place , so many cruise ships make it really busy at times and this hotel is the perfect escape , food and poolside .
