While traveling before Christmas, I had a reservation this hotel - We were visiting family so called the hotel on the day of check in to let them know it would be a late check in - was told "No Problem" Got to the hotel after dark with freezing rain and icy roads, the clerk said I didn't have a reservation because their system didn't recognize third part reservations. I said, Well, what do I do now? Reply was "I don't know" Then she said " I can make another reservation" - I didn't have a chose so said okay" Got to our room and the chair was so dirty that I asked for a sheet to be put over it so I could sit in it. There was black mold around the bathtub. Left early the next morning so no manager to talk too. After Christmas when we got home, I called corporate Red Lion and they gave me a ticket number but said they couldn't do anything because the hotels are individually owed but would forward the ticket to the hotel and the manager would call soon. Waited two weeks, no call - Called and talked to the front desk, she was sorry but policy was that they would not refund the $50 difference in the room charge. What kind of customer service is this? BEWARE do not stay here

Our overall room was ok, but areas were obviously not clean. The toilet in the bathroom was not clean and the lid fell off when we went to use it. Breakfast was not available until later because the cook didn't show up. And the back entry door was not secure. it wasn't locked.

I want readers to know that I rarely write a negative review. Just look at my profile. This hotel is the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed in. The first room we were assigned had a toilet filled with human feces! We couldn't flush the toilet. The carpet, furniture & drapes were filthy. We rushed down to the front desk & asked for another room. The second room's toilet had urine from a previous guest & we couldn't flush it! This room also had filthy carpet, furniture & drapes. We returned to the front desk & were given a 3rd room. No feces or urine in the toilet, but the toilet certainly could use a plumber to make it function better. The carpet, furniture & drapes were significantly better but could use a cleaning. However, the television, microwave & lamp didn't work. So we tracked down maintenance & the two men opened a new microwave in the dining room & allowed us to heat our picnic dinner. While in the dining room/kitchen we observed how dirty that area was and immediately decided we would not risk our health by eating the complimentary breakfast in the morning. Instead we ate at the nearby Starbucks. It is obvious that management has totally failed in maintaining any level of cleanliness and I intend to contact the health department and file a grievance. This hotel needs to be shut down immediately!

First the hotel over booked. Then the room we were put in was beyond disgusting with food all over, the room was thrashed, the bathroom was so gross, and the people before had stolen the tv and microwave. The next room they put us in was musty with dirty floors and black grout in the bathroom. Then on top of all of this, they did not honor the price that I was quoted by the motel itself. The manager quoted me $129 per night for two nights. When we checked out they charged me almost $100 more than what the total should have been.

When checking in, the first 2 rooms they tried to give me had not been cleaned. The room I checked into was disgusting. The front desk cannot refund a reservation for days not used, only the hotel manager can do this, the one person who will not answer their phone or return calls. Corporate will not intervene in correcting my reservation charge because “hotels operating under an RLH brand are individually owned and operated by independent business owners under a license from a subsidiary of RLH”. Will never be booking with Red Lion again.
