The luxury hotel is located on the small island of Virippukala in Ayimanam Panchayat, by the village of Kumarakom on the banks of the Vembanad lake. It is surrounded by paddy fields planted in a flat area by the lake. This area is geographically called a Kuttanad. Most of the paddy fields were reclaimed from the Vembanad Lake during the British colonial era for increased food production.
