We will see you again Key West Marriott Beachside

Just got back from Key West. This was my and my husband's first time to visit Key West. I checked on other properties, but I had enough Marriott points to use on this property so I used them. We were there for 5 nights. Once we landed at the airport I called Marriott for our shuttle. About 10 minutes later a black Cadillac Escalade shows up and said they were from Marriott. They said the shuttle wasn't available so they sent the driver in the presidential vehicle. I was okay with that. Check in was smooth and we both received a glass of champagne. It is kind of a sprawled out property, but we were able to find our room with the front desk instructions and signage on the grounds. We were in a king guest room, which does not usually have a view of the water, but ours did have a small view of the pool. We did not rent a vehicle because of the shuttle service they have down to Duval Street. And we did not need one. The shuttle runs every hour from 8:00 am to 11:30 pm. Loved the shuttle drivers. They helped with things to do or places to eat. Stayed by the pool a few times. The pool area is very tropical and nicely kept. They have a hot tub and a small beach area and beach bar and grill, also. You really can't swim in the gulf, but they have seadoos, paddle boardsand kayaks available and charter boats for fishing are right there too. They even have a water taxi that takes you to the harbor. We used that once and came back by shuttle. Once you take the shuttle or water taxi, everything on the harbor and Duval Street is available to walk to. Marriott has a restaurant that serves breakfast and dinner. We ate there several times. Breakfast is good, but dinner is very good. It was nice and convenient for us the first night. I enjoyed the craft cocktails and would stop by on our way to our room at night to have a cocktail (okay maybe two). I have to mention the staff was wonderful. We were very saddened when they had to take us back to the airport. We will definitely come back and use this property. We will see you again Key West.

My buddy and I got our annual five days passes from our wives to head to Florida for the extended MLK weekend. We drove from Naples to Key West and arrived at noontime. Our two bedroom suite was not ready so we jumped on the free hotel shuttle and headed down town. The shuttle is saves $25.00 each way instead of calling for an Uber. The hotel does charge a daily fee of $42.00, but we made that back easily with two trips to town. The drivers Mark and Vinnie were a wealth of knowledge. We returned around 7 pm and Camryn greeted us at the front desk. She checked us in after confirming that our room was ready. She was a sweetheart. She put up with us being (slightly) inebriated, a little silly, but happy. Thank you Camryn for your patience. The two bedroom, two bathroom suite was incredible. I have included some pictures. Even though we were only at the resort for 25 hours, we did our laundry in the washer/dryer, had breakfast, and a couple of complimentary drinks at the pool. We will return next January and add a second night.

Our Stay

Our stay was pretty good and relaxing. Vacation Vinny was amazing, and the perfect way to end every single night. I will say they need more attention to little items within the rooms, but other than that, amazing. I believe Ray was our check in agent, and he was nice too.

We stayed in a 3-bedroom bedside condo with spiral stairs to the BEACH!! It was amazing, the pool and hot tub was fabulous. They ran hourly shuttle to Duval Street all day until 11:30 p.m. So Convenient!! They even had 3 water taxi shuttles daily. The employees at the pool including Barefoot Billys were extremely helpful and kind, the service was great. The best thing about the trip was VACATION VINNY the shuttle bus driver, he was SO informative and fun, we felt very comfortable allowing the kids to take the shuttle. He definitely loves his job, I hope to retire to KW and "grow up" to be just like time!! HAPPY ALL THE TIME!! Thanks Vinny

Worst staff of any hotel at which we've stayed !!!

We've been Marriott members since the early 1980s. The staff of this hotel is the worst we've ever had. The staff of the hotels we recently stayed at in Kurdistan and Pakistan have a lot to teach this Marriott staff. We stayed for 4 nights in a "presidential suite." Room size for the $$ charged was very good, but the staff was infuriating. One day i called 3 times for the room to b e serviced. 2 people showed up at 4pm. We had visitors so i didn't leave the living room until our guests left. I then discovered that the bed had not been made, each of the 2 bathrooms had a roll of toilet paper 1/4-inch thick (without a spare) and a light bulb had not been replaced after it was sitting near the lamp for 2 days!. Another day, the housekeeper was yelling on a cellphone while making a bed in the adjacent suite. The door to that room was open and i had difficulty doing work in my suite until the woman got off the phone. I reported all the problems to the manager who responded that they had difficulty finding good staff. We ate at multiple restaurants during our stay in Key West. They all ran like clockwork. I think the problem lies with the management staff!! Dr. G
