Great stay!

Reviewed 31 december, 2021

Had a fantastic 5 night stay here over Christmas break with the family. Everyone from Megan and Tyler who helped us with our initial reservation to Michael at the hotel all went above and beyond to make us happy. Yes it is expensive to stay in Key West especially during festive season, but these guys really take good care of you. Keep up the great work guys!

Way over priced

It was Christmas eve day when I arrived at my $1,000.00 per night at Kimpton Ella's Cottages. I was directed to a room that looked like something from a cheap seedy hotel in a movie like Psycho. I was shocked to say the least. The only good thing that did come from my experience with this hotel was that the person at the front desk named Ashwin, listened to my complaint and helped me out.

Absolutely Beautiful place right in the middle of historic Key West!! One street from Duval street in the heart of it!!

This place is awesome if you travel with pets! They will accept any pet—not just dogs. We travel with an elderly kitty and they’ve bent over backwards to make our 3 night stay as easy as possible with our Chica kitty. Michael was our go-to guy!!

Excellent Location

Pluses: Location! Right in the middle of Old Town. We walked everywhere. Room exits to a private veranda surrounded by foliage. Bed, linens, bath fixtures are of high quality. Price is good in relation to other inflated Key West prices. This is a great choice for couples looking for a good value, non-commercial busy place and who don't need lots of fancy amenities. Minuses: Add-on amenities fee. For what? Pool towels? Why don't hotels just quote a price? Continental breakfast was very basic, but understandable in the time of COVID. Note: Do look at various room size options. We chose a small double and loved being in the interior courtyard. There are no cupboards, just a hanging rack for clothes. We don't mind the lack of daily housekeeping. We had already researched what we wanted to do, so can't speak for the helpfulness of the staff.

I actually hesitate to write a great review of this property, because I almost want to keep it a hidden secret, but it was too great not to. From start to finish, this was an excellent choice for our 10 yr anniversary celebration. Felt like we were in our own little cottage. Jenny was awesome, and text a couple of times to see how our stay was going, or if we needed anything. She left us a beautiful note for our wedding anniversary, and a little bottle of red wine that was much appreciated. The other gentleman, (whose name I cant recall), but I know that he was from Germany, was also very helpful, and took great care of us during our entire stay. Cotinental breakfast was nice selection of muffins pastries, great coffee and tea for my wife, and was set up perfectly. The patio was so private and peaceful, and the room was really well appointed and spacious. If I could give this place an 11, I would. Walking distance to Duval, about 15 minutes to Mallory Square, or the marina, and our favorite place, Schooners Wharf. We will definitely be back soon.
