Nice Views from Rooms on Harbour Side

Stayed from Sep6-9/21. Room was great with balcony for two that we really got to enjoy, with a terrific view of the harbour.
In summer there are some things I must have including a balcony that 2 people can easily sit out on, a great view, and a pool. A restaurant on site is a bonus and on its website HI Kingston Waterfront offered a patio out over the water in the harbor - couldn’t wait to spend money at this lovely OUTDOOR patio restaurant.
The website says there is a heated pool but this isn’t what we got. On our first day, I was told the pool emp didnt show up for their shift. So, no swim for us! Next day, I was allowed to reserve a swim, but was told - still no staff person policing the pool - no big deal except once in pool area, one look at the cloudy water and a toe in the water revealed water temperature to be at about the same temp I keep my hot tub at home – felt like 99-100 degrees. No way I was going into a very cloudy-watered overly-hot pool. Still there was the restaurant, except that the patio listed on the website as open was closed the Monday through Wednesday nights that we were there – not as advertised! We did get a tasty full service INDOOR breakfast Wednesday and Thursday mornings but no patio. The restaurant issue would not have bothered me at all if the pool was clean & at pool temp. But my list of complaints grew as my lack of delight at my stay intensified.
Lastly, the “free” wifi is more than paid for in the $24.00 a night out-door, parking fee.
Do not recommend if you value cleanliness and hygiene at a hotel

Checked in at 11pm after a flight to come to a dirty room after i got into bed and realised i was laying in dirty - stained - hairy sheets, used pillows, crumbled popcorn bits on the floor and left over clothes in the closet. It was so obvious this room had not been cleaned contrary to the hotels' hygiene promise. (concerning as this is mid-pandemic).
After complaining to the front desk, we got a new room that the overnight manager Barry checked himself and promised was clean, only to once again find food and hair all over the bed sheets and bathroom floor. He didn't seem too concerned and was not helpful about the hotels lack of cleanliness. Thankfully the lady behind the desk was very helpful and took time to come up and see the room and the mess which she documented.
By 3am she finally brought us to another new room that was visibly clean and we got a few hours of sleep.
Additionally all hallways and balconies that we went to were filthy and seemed to not have been cleaned in weeks.
Would not recommend this hotel to anyone that is concerned about their hygiene and comfort
Do not book at this hotel.

You do not get what you reserved. Twice I booked with water view and twice I got no water view. I got the worst room, 1rst floor, view on the parking lot. It was a pet friendly room and I have no pet. I paid almost $300.00 for this.
Do not go there!
The only good thing is the view and the location but I didn't get the former.
I never write reviews but I am pissed off right now.
Location is great. Everything else… so so.

The location is great but everything else is just okay. An older hotel that has been remodelled. Our river view room was nice but the balcony was almost unusable due to spiders and their webs. A good cleaning and disinfecting would have taken care of that. The king size bed was super comfy.
Outside our room the hall was very dirty. When we arrived the carpet had quite a bit of crumbs, food, dirt. It wasn’t cleaned all weekend and got worse each day. Too bad. All in all we enjoyed our trip to Kingston and may stay here again but would explore other hotels first.
I would not recommend this hotel

The location was great but the customer service for the most part was pretty awful
My sister had booked a nicer room that was much more expensive then mine but was awful
She nicely explained the situation at the front desk and the manager (I think her name was Andrea but not 100 percent) was dismissive and actually cold and rude about it. Some of the waitstaff at the restaurant were really nice but then some extremely rude. I think the management is off and is in need of more training. Also the hotel is just not that nice or well kept to be honest. I would not recommend this hotel, especially for the money you pay
