Excellent stay at Mary Culter House Hotel

The junior suite we had was perfect. From the room we could admire fantastic views of the River Dee and the surrounding countryside .Our room had been recently refurbished , was beautifully decorated and had all the home comforts you’d expect. It was generously sized as was the marble effect bathroom.
As regards dining, the evening meal and breakfast were excellent. Overall a highly enjoyable stay and we’ll definitely be back. Thank you to the staff of Mary Culter House Hotel.
Lovely friendly staff! Highly recommended

I can not recommend this place enough!
We arrived quite late after a flight and the staff kept the chef behind in order to cook us a meal (not just chips or toast as we had said was sufficient) but a full meal from the menu.
The breakfast staff were so inviting and friendly and they entertained and interacted with my young daughter that just made the whole experience really warm and welcoming.
The room was great and we had a wet room style shower as well as a bath big enough for a 6ft person to relax in.
Even after we left the hotel staff were fantastic as we left my daughters favourite cuddly toy in the room and the staff not only located it and kept it safe, but also posted it to our house as we'd already flown home.
I honestly can't thank them enough and don't remember a hotel stay which felt so comfortable and relaxing.
Fabulous Historic Hotel

I would highly recommend anyone to try this lovely hotel. From the warm welcome we received on arrival to the beautifully refurbished Classic Room with a view of the River Dee. They’ve thought of everything, robes, slippers, iron and ironing board, clothes brush with shoe horn, to the Molton Brown toiletries and bottles of chilled water and fresh milk in the fridge. The bed was super comfortable and the room itself was immaculate. The attention to detail was superb. We ordered the welcome chocolates for our arrival, which were to die for!
We were fortunate enough to have beautiful weather which allowed us to sit outside with drinks overlooking the river. The gardens are very well maintained and the views from the patio area are tremendous.
The food served in the restaurant was delicious and well presented. I can highly recommend the smoked salmon starter followed by the chorizo crusted halibut. Everything was cooked beautifully and very tasty.
This hotel is a combination of contemporary decor and traditional furnishings, which just works. Keep up the great work Maryculter House - we’ll be back!
Wedding venue and lovely house

Maryculter House is the ideal venue for your wedding. Stop searching, you've found the best. We had our special day here in August and it was amazing! Leading up to the wedding our coordinator Joceyln was excellent and very helpful with any queries we had. Especially with the constant changes to covid it was good to get meetings with her so we knew where we stood.
On the day we were greeted by master of ceremonies, Peter and he was very professional whilst still being able to keep us laughing and relaxed (as much we could be 😂). Everything was set up just as requested and the day ran smoothly. The food was excellent and they catered extremely well for our vegetarian, vegan and gluten free guests so zero issues there. The rooms themselves are clean, spacious and river/terrace views are fab not to mention the bride suite which was outstanding.
All staff were friendly and inviting. We knew it was difficult as restrictions had only been lifted so training up new staff for larger events in a short space of time was not fair in them. This did slow down drinks orders but as you read this review that issue will have been rectified as everything will be in full flow again.
Nothing was too much trouble!

We stayed at the weekend with friends and family following the end of Josh's world record. The bedrooms are beautiful, impressive bathroom and quality extras, lovely plush furnishings, impressive bathroom nooks and crannies beautiful fireplaces. Views out over the river were phenomenal, we had a lovely wee patio area off our room right next to the river. All the staff were really great, welcoming, professional friendly. Pamela White was particularly awesome, we were a large group and she went above and beyond to arrange our last minute dinner booking for a large group even gave us a private room. She was polite and unobtrusive and showed a real interest in our group and Josh's story. Her service was outstanding, thanks so much Pamela! One last thing - for the location, surroundings, quality of rooms and food I'd have expected to pay at least double. If you're heading to the area Maryculter House is where you should stay.
