Not worth going there!

Reviewed 4 march, 2020

We stayed 2 nights. The idea of the resort is great. But the soul is gone. Staff is friendly but sleepy. The food in the restaurant is probably not what it was. Coffee is terrible. The sight is beautifull and the restaurant and everything around also. But the bugalow is terrible. Terrible noisy, very hard matras(better you can lay on the ground!), light is horrible, airco is smelly and towers not very fresh smelling. Everything is falling apart. Its a pitty because with a bit dedication it could turn out to be a great resort. Walking over the beach to the left side you have nice restaurants to eat with your feet in the sand. On the property next to the restaurant they collected rubbish or buildingmaterial. Why dont they put it somewhere else. The reception is messy and that is already a sign how this resort is working. They could not arrange for us a normal priced taxi, so we had to walk with our heavy luggage and in the heat to the mainroad to find a cab. In the corner is a coffee shop wich the owner has big pick up and brough us for the halve of the price.

Between a 3 and a 4 but a good stay

This is a relatively budget place and so I have given it a four rating. The staff are all friendly and very helpful. They booked a tour for us and on our last day printed our tickets off for us and called to check the transport. The food is excellent and I would not hesitate to rate the restaurant as a 4. We had their signature Pad Thai noodles which was one of our best meals in Thailand so far (8days and all Thai meals). To add to that, it was only 80baht (£2)!!! They then had a choice of four curries on the specials board and we had one each. I had Massaman. It came with rice and a spring roll, was very good and only 100baht (£2.50). Happy hour cocktails are 100baht between 4pm and 7pm. It is right on the beach, has nice seating of a variety including double bamboo beds on the beach. There are restaurants and shops on the nearby main road. Three Sisters was excellent. We upgraded rooms as the first was as reported a bit boxy and Spartan. I could have coped but it was only £12.50 a night for the wooden chalet (beware - it has a private but outdoor shower and toilet. We found it laid back/hippie/funky but you might not). We stayed one extra night - negotiated a slight reduction by avoiding booking on internet which would cost them money. Yes there are ants. Yes it is a bit budget. Yes the loos can be temperamental. Bed is firm, aircon worked, laundry service within the day, coffee, sugar, creamer and kettle, we didn't use the TV, cleaned every day and new towels. We would be more than happy to stay here again. 4 nights 6600bahts. Good value for money at £165.

PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS PLACE! We stayed for 5 nights, and had a pretty lovely time until our final night. At about 4am, our air conditioning broke down and it was so hot that we couldn't sleep. This came after our toilet had broken on the first night and our room was infested by ants, but we'd just chalked that up it being a bit of a budget hotel. But we felt this last thing was too far, so I went to the front desk in the morning to ask for a refund for that night. I asked calmly, and was immediately greeted by hostility from the receptionist. She called on a nearby coworker, who proceeded to shout at me that we should have reported it (I explained it happened at 4am when no one was at the desk, as they finish at 10pm) and then he simply waved his hand dismissively and walked away. At this point quite agitated, I repeatedly asked the receptionist to come and see the broken unit for herself. She kept refusing, then eventually came with her colleague in tow, along with another male colleague who was carrying a rake (this is relevant, I promise). Upon entering our room, where my partner was packing up, I tried to point out the broken unit and the first man continued to shout at me (in Thai, so I couldn't understand what he was saying). He got right up in my face and at one point grabbed my chin threateningly. I told him not to touch me (but did not touch him), upon which he lunged at me, with the receptionist holding him back. She pulled him out of the room, and he kept trying to come at me. At this point, I called out that I was being attacked by the staff, hoping to get some support from anyone nearby, and he came at me again, kicking and throwing the furniture outside our room. THEN, the second man took his rake and snapped it in half, brandishing this as a weapon and making to lunge at me with it. The receptionist held him back as well, and I quickly closed and locked our door as I was genuinely afraid for mine and my partner's safety. We quickly packed up all our belongings and left via the beach so as to avoid ruining into the staff again. I would not normally write a negative review of a place, but these people are DANGEROUS and threatened us with physical violence when we made (what we thought to be) a reasonable request - they went from being perfectly pleasant to psychotic as soon as money was mentioned. We left terrified, and I would like to spare anyone else such a horrific experience. As I said, our stay had otherwise been perfectly pleasant, so this has nothing to do with anything other than the incident described. Please, please, please reconsider if you are thinking of staying here - there are plenty of other lovely hostels nearby where the staff will not threaten your life.

Amazing little Bungalow with sea views

Reviewed 5 july, 2018

We were extremely lucky and got upgraded to a Bungalow with sea view, they are lovely little rooms perfect for a couple of nights taking in the amazing views. The outside shower is a bit strange but after a couple of hot days its actually lovely. The bar next to the resort is really cool and we loved sitting by the bar looking out to sea.
