Mixed Review

Reviewed 28 january, 2017

The hut Room is fine but check bathroom for mold. Resturant food is uneven while resturant staff is friendly. The lady in charge at the front desk seem nice at first but then is not. Walking distance to main road. Pool area is small but ok if you don't have high expectations but the few lounge chairs gets hijacked early in am before people go for breakfast etc. You lay close to others having to breath in their cigarettes and sunscreen lotions. No beach but beach access in low tide. Food is way fresher and less costly at Seevang bungalows, a 15 min beach walk (low tide).

Terrible Rooms

Reviewed 19 january, 2017

The location was a bit isolated, far from any main street which was unfortunate considering our taxi driver dropped us off a 15 minute walk away in the rain. Then, when we were checking in, another lady was complaining about the mold smell in her room and I wrote it off as being to picky. The first bungalow they took us to had no electricity so we hung tight while they found us another one. It did have a slight smell in hindsight, but it wasn't nearly as bad as the room they gave us. The main bedroom area smelled horrible and the bathroom reeked of mildewy urine. We tried to tough it out, but only made it one night. I had a headache the whole time, and my partner threw up after coming back into the room from breakfast. When I went to the front desk, I was very nice and understanding. I tried to get her to understand that we couldn't stay here anymore (not much of a stretch to assume they all smelled that way), and asked just for our next two nights' money back. No go. She even acted like we were being wimps over the smell. We left since it was actually unhealthy for us, but it's a bummer that she was so rude and wouldn't even consider giving us any kind of refund. Also, heads up the wifi didn't work, neither did the in-room tv. They had a great selection of books though! All that only mattered because the weather was unseasonably rainy the whole time we were in the south of Thailand.

Lovely Location - Poor Service

Reviewed 29 december, 2016

I booked the beachfront villa, the room was basic, television was old like the owner there were 3 channels and none in English if you are Thai or Russian you would do just fine . The bed was as hard as nail, the bedding was just as old. I had to ask for clean towels after 2 days. All the hotels I have stayed at before in Thailand gives you 2 bottles of water free and tea and coffee making facilities in the room this did not when I enquired why I was told that in the past the guests would drink a little water and then through the rest away what a poor excuse for being mean. There is a British Chef who needs to go and give the owner some advise. This place needs to TLC I imagined that this was a nice place when it first opened but over the years you can see the deterioration of this place If I had read a review like this before no way would I have booked it

I had booked and payed a week and left after first night, crack all over floors and walls, mozzies everywhere, 4 geckos fan didn't work. Not clean. Was reported to staff but they didn't seem to care. Also the pool isn't in use it is green! Wouldn't recommend!

nice garden and that´s all!

we stayed a few days there, because we payed all in advance. if this wouldn´t have been this case we had changed the resort after two nights. the resort itself is located in a nice garden and has a nice pool area near to maenam beach, but every bungalow needs a renovation quickly. the furniture and the decoration is completely rundown and the bathroom a wet and humid area. it was not realy a place to stay longer. the whole area needs a renovation...also the restaurant, which is dark and terrible furnished...specially the fans on the celing. we had housekeeping every day...but the bathroom was not cleaned in the whole time we stayed there, used glasses were still used ...we cleaned them every day for us own...one of the worst housekeeping service we ever had during our time travelling around. in the roomrate included was a breakfast also...light instant coffee, fruits and artificial juices, jam and margerine...no butter. every guest had the choice between five breakfastsets...nothing was realy tasty. about the staff we cannot say very much...they are friendly, but not realy friendly. we had nice contact with the gardener...also with the housekeeper...only two persons who clean all the houses on the area...so it doesn´t wonder why the rooms are not clean. 2 persons are not enough for more than 40 houses. the management is very profit orientated and the mood between the workers there seemed not so nice. we cannot recomment this resort. it is rundown and the staff doesn´t do their work nice and with happyness. when we come to samui next time, new lapaz villa will be definitivly not in our choice.
