Lovely Hotel But...
Stayed here for 12 days. On arrival felt safe - temperature checked and offered an Ouzo on the house by the friendly bar man - welcome after a long day and arrival at gone 1am. Reception girls lovely and helpful - nothing too much trouble. The apartment met all expectations and cleaning was done as and when requested following Covid guidelines. Unfortunately our stay was spoilt as we only visited the pool twice due to a large party of guests with unruly screaming children who took over the pool area everyday. Other guests could not relax but management did nothing to stop this. Unfortunate timing for us but if you want a quiet relaxing holiday this family friendly hotel is not the place. It was a last minute change for us as our original resort / hotel was not opening this season due to Covid. We spent everyday at the beach and will not return.
Just left the Aegean Blu hotel and what a fantastic hotel this is. The rooms, the breakfast, the pool but best of all the staff. The rooms are immaculate, we booked a studio and got an apartment which was a nice surprise!! We was welcomed on arrival with a drink and the night porter was so kind to help us with our luggage as our daughter was fast asleep in her buggy. One of the ladies at reception in the morning was such a lovely lady and loved our daughter and always there a smile on her face. Unfortunately we didn't catch her name. The location was ideal for families. A short walk down the beach front and you are in Kos town which was full of restaurants and gift shops. There is a supermarket on the corner from the hotel which was handy. This was our first time in Kos but it certainly wont be our last! Highly recommend this hotel especially those with children.
Staying here for a week with my friends Jill and Lyn. Staff cannot do enough to make our stay perfect. Hotel is spotlessly clean with many staff on hand tending to its every need. I recommend this place to anyone who wants to stay in a clean efficiently run chilled hotel. I love it and the staff x
OMG Aegean 😀😀😀😍😍😍
Well wat can I say our first time here, and won't be our last. On our arrival all the staff made us feel welcome. Very helpful and spoke great English. Our rooms were a decent size as well. Breakfast mornings at the moment during covid19 era the staff has to get what you want, u can't self service which understandable. The pool is amazing not too deep around 5ft 7ish so chest size pending on ur height. Not much entertainment though which again is due to covid19 so don't be put off. We new it be different x This hotel has amazing potential certaintly will be back to normal maybe next year once covid gone worldwide. We coming back for sure next year, our new home in KOS. Was bit sad leaving. See u all soon x Well worth the stay here. 10/10
We enjoyed our 10 days at Aegean Blu - thank you!
We went self catering for 10 days during Covid-19 as a family of 6 (all 4 children under 12). A little apprehensive at first due to the strange circumstances but we were greeted off the coach by Nic at the Aegean Blu. It was midnight and the kids were tired. Nic was very helpful and pleasant. He made a real effort to make us feel welcome. We were in room 2201, which is on the top floor. There are no lifts (we expect that in Greece to be fair) but Nic helped us with our bags and we were able to get sorted very well. The hotel is following all the recommendations as per Covid-19. The room was massive. 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. Much more than we anticipated. They were clean and fairly modern. We've travelled to many Greek islands so are used to the basic hotel when there but Aegean Blu offers a bit more. Sure, the 3 TVs in the apartment couldn't find a channel between them (but then again we don't go to Greece to watch TV) and the wifi was not great in the room, but everything else was good. Other guests we spoke to said the opposite in that their Tvs worked perfec tly and the wifi was excellent. The second bathroom made us chuckle. The toilet is so close to the shower screen that only children could use it, but that was more than bearable. The hotel is very relaxing and quiet during the night. There were some groups of Dutch girls and boys there who had a more lively holiday planned, but we rarely heard them. The pool is large enough for all guests and is clean. It is a little sun trap and finding sunbeds was never an issue. There are lots of inflatables for guests to use so don't pack any or bother buying any whilst there. The hotel doesn't provide beach or sunbed towels but when we enquired, they were more than happy for you to use the towels from the rooms if desperate. The food albeit not a great choice was always freshly prepared and very tasty. There was no draught beer at the hotel but a good selection of bottles. This was a common theme at the restaurants we visited but that could be due to the Covid-19 effect. The staff were all very friendly, particularly Nic, Anastacia and Nopi (think that's spelt correctly). The location was great too. Sure, there are a few derelict buildings surrounding the hotel (but that seemed very common all over Kos Town) but within 5 minutes you are on the beach, 10 minutes you are at the harbour/marina and the nearest restaurant (Efkalipty - great place) is 2 minutes away. There's also a large supermarket a few metres up from Efkalipty. Kos as a place was great. The locals were EXTREMELY friendly and welcoming. Even when you declined using their restaurant or bar, they were very quick to wish you good health and a great holiday. Perhaps if Brits did this, there'd be more folk holidaying in the UK? There was an issue with cats in Kos. They are everywhere, and unfortunately we saw quite a lot of cat poo, especially on the road next to the beach. A small issue and certainly not one to put people off visiting Kos, but I'd have thought they'd have something in place to sort it out. CAts begging at your table side is a common sight but if you tell the waiters that you don't like it, they move them on. For the kids it was their first time in Greece, and they loved it. For the parents we've been to Kos once before and we will be back again.
