Excellent!

This hotel was a surprise find and really lovely. All the staff were attentive and friendly. The restaurant had a contemporary calming feel and served delicious food and fine wines. The room was very comfortable and clean and there was private parking to the rear of the property for guests! Overall our stay was excellent and we are happy to recommend and revisit in the future.

Immaculately presented hotel.

The hotel is perfectly placed in L’Epine as we were driving to Austria. The manager phoned us asking if our time of arrival. Apparently they had sent an email giving us instructions on how to enter the property. Unfortunately we didn’t receive this so had to ring the bell when we arrived. He was there and check in was easy. We had a suite(room 2) overlooking the Basilica and onto the main road. Previous reviews have said the road was busy. There were a few lorries coming through but in honesty we didn’t hear them. The room was immaculate, a good size and very well presented bathroom and separate toilet. My only compliant is the pillows were very hard. But that is a personal thing. I usually taken my own and I forgot. Unfortunately the restaurant is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays(they did flag this up for us well in advance) which was a shame as we read it is excellent. We felt it was a bit late to drive into the next town of a Challon en Champagne after 10hrs on the road, but there are no facilities to eat in L’Epine . Luckily we had food in the car so we ate in our room. But keep this in mind if you stay there on Mondays and Tuesdays. Breakfast is disappointing. At €18.50 we would have expected a bigger choice. The coffee was Luke warm and served in a jug that is for everyone to use. A separate cafetière per table would have been nicer. Overall this is a very nice hotel to stay.

We spend a great time in this lovely Hotel for Christmas with my family. Atmosphere was cosy, food and beverage were at the best standard. Personnel staff were excellent. Swimming pool was confortable and very well equipped with sauna. We enjoyed the salon place for coffee and refreshment I highly recommend this Hotel and restaurant

Good but overpriced.

This is an old hotel that used to be owned by a wine family, then shut for many years, and reopened after an extensive refurbishment that brought in a great swimming pool and impressively modernised the rooms. It is in a beautiful setting but be aware that it is the only place for 10km that is open at night. And that is a problem. The restaurant is not open every night of the week and when it is is often full. So most of the time you are paying for a bed and breakfast only. While there is a pool and the breakfast is good, it is hard to justify spending over €200 a night on that.

Great hotel!

We spent one night here on our way back from the south of france to the netherlands. Should have stayed longer. Had s nice swim with our 5 year old son, great dinner, really nice breakfast. It’s suitable for couples but there is also enough to do for a kid (game room with playstation, mini golf etc). Restaurant really good. Family room (suite) perfect with two separate bedrooms. Will come again.
