Great hotel, comfortable and clean accommodations. Awesome staff, very enjoyable stay with a great view. We have visited this hotel in the past when we were planning our wedding. Every time we have stayed here has been beyond our expectations.

End of summer vacation 5 day stay Holiday Inn Lake George

Reviewed 13 september, 2022

The Holiday Inn in Lake George has much to offer families with children such as indoor and outdoor pools, outdoor play areas, weekly kid and family friendly poolside activities. However, for older guests, other than the sauna, hot tub and gym, the number of kids can be too much. Also, the hotel has a check in time of 4pm but many are able to check in between 2-4 pm. We were not lucky in that regard. We arrived around 2:30 on a Monday. Families checking in then got their rooms. We had to wait. Told the front desk we had reservations at 5:30 for a dinner cruise and wanted to be able to change. Was told they had lobby bathrooms we could use. Hmmm. Also the they have no hotel generator which was problematic because there was a major power outage on the second day of our stay. Getting replacement towels and sundries did not always go smoothly and one day didn't get any at all and was told that someone probably "stole" our bag off our door. Hmmm. For $2,000 plus for five days it was ok but we expected a better experience.

Don't miss it!

Amazing Service, Will come again if the opportunity ever arises again.

First all I'd just like to say, before coming here I didn't think much of this place, heard mixed reviews. I figured it was understandable, given a lot of the bad reviews were during covid-19 and majority of public places were low on service and employees, but nonetheless I wanted to see for myself, and boy was I in for a treat. Upon arriving, my room was not ready, as we arrived at 2:30, while check in is supposedly 4, but thanks to Karisha's amazing thinking, she was able to move me to a clean room, AND on the first floor with a patio! Checking in at 2:30 was an amazing start. Upon arriving to the room, we were in dire need of towels, and my girlfriend requested some from the front desk. Not even two minutes later, we heard a knock on the door and were delighted to see a young man named Umar from the front desk personally give us our towels. He had an great sense of humor and kindly showed us where to park as well. He also recommended us a great place to eat called "Salutti" or something like that. The food was delicious, I gave him a small tip for that. Upon arriving back from the restaurant, we called the front desk for toilet paper and shampoo, and lo and behold our hero Umar delivered almost immediately, him and Karisha were extraordinarily helpful and kind with us, really appreciated their courtesy, the highlight of our stay. In conclusion, a 10/10 hotel, and my girlfriend and I are excited to come again next year :)

Family-friendly fun resort

Reviewed 26 august, 2022

Stayed with my husband and 8-year-old son. First, overall I want to say that it seems that Lake George struggled during the pandemic and may have lost a lot of businesses, including hotels. Many hotels I observed, both in researching where to stay and physically observing them while here, are closed or severely declined. There seem to only be a handful of viable options for a comfortable, amenity-rich (not luxury, though) family stay. This resort is one of the best options. Food: Only ate at the restaurant once. Food was mixed. Service was not good in that they closed earlier than we were told and we had to jump through hoops to get anything. There was a cute complimentary spread by the pool with snacks, beer and wine one day which was nice. Free ice cream by pool was Good Humor. Room: Our room was ideal. Spacious one-bedroom suite with kitchenette. Balcony overlooking pool with view of lake and mountains. I think balcony may have been an upgrade as I did not book that category I don't think. Definitely worth the money. Amenities and activities: This is where it is very good for families. We did not partake but there is a kids club with organized activities. They have stuff by the pool, we did trivia and won a prize, very fun. The outdoor pool is very nice, heated, and there is putting green, big chess, playground, shuffle board, all well kept and create fun family atmosphere. Indoor pool and jacuzzi are also nice and were great when it rained. Service: As I have found with all hotels, at every level, since the pandemic, there is a severe downgrade in Service, particularly housekeeping. No housekeeping. You fill out a form to make specific requests, and they leave stuff on the door handle. Overall, though, Service was on par or superior to other pandemic and post pandemic experiences we've had.
