Good Overall, Details Need a Little Work
Had an overall lovely stay at the Exe Las Palmas. The pros: it is in a great location, close to Plaza Santa Catalina, the beach, the local buses, and many restaurants. Natalia behind the front desk is lovely and helpful. The rooftop is nice enough (though some of the furniture is a little ragged) and the room price was reasonable. The maids also cleaned the room very thoroughly. The cons: We had asked them to make a dinner reservation at one of the best restaurants in town. They did which was great but didnt tell us that they had done so and we missed out which was pretty disappointing (they said they called the room but why not leave a message or tell us when we walked in?). Also, they took our laundry bag out of the room for washing, which we didnt want, despite leaving it behind on the floor for the 2 prior days. We rescued the bag before it was done so no problem in the end. They might be smart and put in a bar for guests in the lobby but otherwise no problems and I would recommend to other travelers.
Solid 4 stars Hotel at reasonable price
Pros: modern, spacious room, centrally located, very convenient, adequate provisons for amenities (e.g. fridge, bottled water), good value for money Cons: water from the wash basin a bit slow, air conditioner a bit noisy, our room facing a back lane - no view All in all, we like this hotel and have a pleasant stay.
Great Location, Reasonable Price
Just one street back off the Beach, decent enough rooms, 2 small requests were sorted out to our satisfaction, nice sun lounger area on the roof, with swimming pool and hot tub. The only thing they we were disappointed in was that there were zero english speaking channels on the tv, loads of German, but zero UK, rather strange. Overall though a solid 8/9 out of 10 hotel, at a decent saving on the beach front hotels, which are just 1 minute walk away.
Comfortable hotel and friendly staff
We stayed a week here and were impressed with the comfort and cleanliness of the hotel and with how welcoming and helpful the staff were. The location is also very good; no views but only a minute's walk to the beach and all its restaurant options, 7 minutes to the bus station and 10 minutes to a modern shopping mall at the port (if that's your taste). Don't underestimate the quality of the food in the hotel restaurant either. The breakfasts are great but we also had dinner in the restaurant a couple of times and we were not disappointed. All in all, this is a nice, comfortable hotel in a handy location to explore Las Palmas and beyond.
Broken jacuzzi and dark rooms with no desk
This hotel is good as a 3 star hotel. Good breakfast, nice staff, large and clean rooms. However I stayed over Christmas. It was also overpriced, the room was very dark with hardly any natural light, both pools are cold, there is no desk in the room (so you can’t work on a laptop) and the jacuzzi / hot tub was cold and broken for all of my stay. I asked for the jacuzzi to be fixed every day but it wasn’t possible. I was offered a free meal which I could not accept. Very disappointed with the facilities. I would not stay here again there are much nicer and better value places in LP.
