Very Nice Resort & Room

Reviewed 28 november, 2021

This was our first time staying at the Venetian. We were on the 21st floor of the main tower with a partial view of the strip and the mountains [to the North/West]. The room was very nice, plenty of space to relax, sleep, eat and kick back. It's kinda weird there are 2 TVs on the same wall, one down in the seating area. So you could hear both of them at the same time. But with a 700sqft room, they were far enough apart so it wasn't a big issue. The mattress was a pillow top, but probably rated an Extra Firm. It was plenty firm enough, and comfortable. We all slept pretty well. The bathroom was huge, had a separate shower and tub. Everything was very clean and we had plenty of towels. We kept the Privacy marker on the door, so the staff didn't bother us at all for 3 nights. We had dinner and breakfast at the Grand Lux Cafe, which was excellent. And the pricing was very fair for the quality and the amount of food you get. We would have taken leftovers, but there's nowhere to keep it in the room or warm it up later. [no fridge or microwave, or even a coffee machine]. Walking to some places within the resort were a little confusing, which most are that way when they are this size. But we managed. Parked our car in the self service lot, worked out just fine there too. A few items to note: No Microwave No Fridge No Hair Dryer No Coffee Machine We had 2 queen beds, and the outer part of the bed was only about 8-10 inches from the wall. There was only 1 end table between the beds. The table at the beds had NO outlets, I had to reach back behind the table to plug in our phone chargers. Luckily I brought an extension cord so we could plug in all of our devices. There is a nice size desk with outlets and a lamp, and a breakfast size round table, which is room enough for 4 people. It had nice sized dressers, but the closet was a little small. The ice machine down the hall worked great, but the ice bucket in the room is very small. We were able to fill up our coolers for the road home. We had a room almost at the end of a long hallway, which I think helped keep the noise down. There were no issues in this area. Overall, if you get a good rate on the rooms, I would recommend this resort. But Vegas eats you up in fees. One example is the basic room rate was $150, but the taxes were $20.24 + $6.02 + $45.00 resort fee. So that turns it into $221.26 per night. That's about 48% more in fees. It really adds up. Check the taxes and resort fees anywhere you stay in Vegas. Many times we have stayed at a Marriott hotel in Summerlin or Henderson. All of the resort staff we encountered were wearing masks, which we appreciated.

This is, honestly, one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. You really could just stay in the hotel and never leave because you have stores, restaurants and the casino all inside the hotel. The room was very nice and clean. I will definitely stay here next time I am in Vegas. As with most hotels in Vegas, the parking garage was FREE!

Beautiful hotel

The hotel was beautiful and top notch. The rooms are large and the bed comfortable and the bathroom great. There customer service is a little lacking however. They have a mini bar system that if you touch an item it automatically charges. Problem with kids or a long stay.

I must say this Hotel/Resort was everything I hoped it would be and more. Starting with making the reservations, the agent was excellent, very patient and knowledgeable about the property. I was able to check in online and the room was ready when we arrived. The suite was excellent. The rooms were cleaned thoroughly every day. The restaurants and the casino was wonderful! Anything we needed, the staff responded right away. This is the best Hotel we have stayed in since we've been coming to Vegas. I highly recommend this Hotel. We definitely will be staying here in the future!

Stay somewhere else!!!

I am a Platinum Elite Member for IHG and I was still treated and given a room that was not in accordance to my status. The girl who checked us in was snarky and talked to me with a snarky tone with no respect and thought she was all that!! (just because we had a long flight and looked haggard didn't mean we don't deserve to be respected and she didn't even wished us a pleasant stay and she kept calling me "Honey" which is so unprofessional!), she definitely need a career change!! The room was not up to par with what was shown on pictures and on the site. Furniture were very old and pretty beaten up, shower head was really old and only had a few holes that has water coming out. The room was not cleaned properly and had urine stain on the toilet seat as well as the dish soap was obviously used by the previous guest and still had soap stain on them. Lighting was terrible! I spoke to another front desk agent, she was sympathetic and gave us a resort credit of some kind. I asked for an upgrade (per my check-in) and was told that I could only get a view room (how is that an upgrade when the room is still the same, there is no upgrade at all!!) Will we stay in the Venetian again, absolutely NOT!!! Will we recommend the Venetian? Heck NO!!! The hotel is over rated and it's like a pretty girl on the outside while the inside is starting to rot and degenerate. So disappointing!!! The only reason we gave it a (3) star is that our baggage was handled by a really nice bellman and the housekeeper who helped us fix our toilet, otherwise, it was such a waste of money where we could have stayed in Marriot or Hilton and would have been treated way better and would have had a better room accommodation. Never again!!! Back to Marriott or Hilton brands when in Vegas and you can bet your money on that!
