Definitely not at all woth over $200.00 a night. In all it costs about 240 with fees and taxes! The hotel is clean but basic. That is double their previous prices a few months ago. Unfortunately I will not be retuning there.

My husband and I travel to Lexington, VA several times a year and have stayed at most of the hotels there with no complaint. We booked an overnight stay at the Wingate for $50 more than neighboring hotels based on it having advertised a hot breakfast, pool and sauna. When we arrived it had neither. At check-in we were told the pool and sauna were closed for renovations. The sign on pool entrance stated they closed the pool for Covid reasons. We were blatantly lied to. We asked why this closure information was not made available when booking and the front desk clerk stated some obscure reason blaming Wyndham. The sign outside the Wingate still states they have pool and sauna. Guess that's Wyngates fault too. It was 10pm when we checked in and we were forced to sign a waiver that we accepted the pool closure or stay elsewhere. I called earlier that day to let them know we'd be checking in late. They could have informed us about the pool then. There was no hot breakfast in the morning. They offered prepackaged food which was very unappetizing. The room we stayed in on 3rd floor was not soundproof. I was awake all night listening to conversations and someone who had their TV on all night. Needless to say, we do not recommend this hotel.

I’ll go with the positive first. The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly and I did get a good nights sleep.
I booked this hotel for one night on June 20. for a stay on July 8. After over 400 miles on the road I’m looking for some relaxation in the hot tub. As I’m parking my vehicle I see the large sign outside “Heated Pool and Spa”
I go inside to check in and there is this form given to me that was something about COVID and the pool and spa being closed. Because of that, I’m given the option of canceling my reservation on the spot with no penalty. Right, at 8:30 at night after all those miles I’m going to look for another room. I tell the gentleman who checked me in that the fact the pool and spa are closed, there should be a mention on the website. He says “yea, I know”. Obviously he has been told this before and in reading reviews after my stay, this issue of the pool and spa being closed has been going on for quite a while. Like I said before, management gives you the opportunity to cancel, but I don’t believe many people are going to opt out after many miles of travel and go across the street and up the hill or a mile south to try to book another room in the area and I suspect management may count on that.
Lastly, the breakfast here was insufficient in my opinion. The breakfast is sanitary and everything is wrapped up, however the only sources of protein were yogurt, milk and peanut butter. A few hard boiled wrapped up in the refrigerator or some other simple proteins could have been included instead of the plethora of carbs. Also, apple juice, which I don’t drink was the only juice available.
Next time, it’s back to one of the hotels down the road or across the street where the amenities posted on their websites have always been available in the past as stated. Would be nice if their website was updated and the sign outside was accurate.

I was in the Lexington area 6-13-21, hotel we were staying at the power was knocked out by a strong storm that passed through around 6pm. We waited until 9pm hoping power would be returned, no luck. they offered us a full refund no hassle. Went to the Wingate as our first attempt to find a room. Person at counter stated no rooms available. Asked for a suggestion he said drive down the road you will see other hotels. I asked if I could possibly use WIFI to search. His Smug answer, you are not a guest, I told you just drive down the street, you'll find something. RUDE RUDE RUDE. Sounds like some customer service training is needed. Fire him...

Hotel is clean, staff is nice. Pool is closed but is not communicated on website where we reserved our room, or on the huge sign outside advertising pool and spa. This would have been nice to know before choosing this hotel as we traveled in for a wedding and was looking forward to swimming and the hot tub. Just not pleased with this stay. Our view for 4 nights is the roof over the pool. Not a single mountain view in sight.
