Charged $259 for 3 Nights after Covid Cancellation

Reviewed 3 september, 2021

My trip was canceled last-minute due to a Covid test. Even though I contacted the hotel immediately, they still charged me $259 for THREE nights as a"no-show" even though I never stepped foot in the hotel. They refused my request for an exception to the "no-show" policy and did not offer credit for use in the future. This after I let them change my reservation from one hotel to another to accommodate construction. The hotel advertised for booking was not in fact available. Despite positive reviews, I would avoid this hotel because of its unfriendly business practices.

A great place to stay in beautiful Lisbon!!!

Browns Boutique Hotel is a fabulous friendly, unassuming hotel in a central location. Close to the metro, restaurants and shops and a short walk to the river. With excellent friendly and helpful staff! We were given a warm welcome by Ines at reception who gave us lots of helpful information and suggestions of places to explore. We stayed for four nights in February. The hotel is terrific value for money as we had a delicious and varied breakfast included. Our room was very comfortable, elegant and beautifully clean and very quiet and relaxing with a lovely powerful rain forest shower. Lisbon is a beautiful captivating city, exploring on foot is easy plus it has an efficient network of tubes, trams, buses and ferries!! Day trip tour with Viator to Sintra, Pena Place, Cabo da Roca and Cascais is well worth it!! We could not ask for a better experience. Thank you Browns Boutique Hotel. We would have no hesitation recommending this lovely hotel to anyone.

More Dump Than Boutique

This is the first hotel I can recall where the check-in is in the restaurant dining room. Actually, the main door is the restaurant’s door. Not a horrible thing just different. But, it went down hill from there. The room had just enough space for me to stand, hold out my arms and do a 360. There are some hotel rooms where you really do not want to take off your socks for fear of what might be on the carpet and this is like that. The bed and bedding were comfortable. Everything was well used but worked. The staff was very nice and even packed a breakfast for me because my flight was early. Still, I do not plan on hurrying back to Brown’s. Lisbon I will hurry back to!

Loved It!

Very much enjoyed this hotel. Went for a superior room (101) as staying 4 nights. Extra space very welcome. Quirks, yes as with all hotel rooms, but thats the fun. If you want uniformity go corporate. Centrally located, easy walking distance to central sites and restaurant/ bar areas. Buses/trams and metro very close for other sites and those needing transport. Breakfast at hotel very good and easy to negotiate. Extra services - Airport taxi etc excellent. Would recommend Lisbon and this Hotel to family and friends.

Gem of a find

Booked Browns Boutique Hotel based on location. When we arrived we soon found out what a gem we had uncovered. Delightfully furnished in retro fashion with wonderful nick nacks in every corner. Staff were excellent and very helpful. Service in the restaurant was smooth. Food was excellent quality with good portioning. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Lovely shower. No bath but not an issue. Everything was better than we expected. I would have no hesitation recommending Browns Boutique Hotel to anyone. It’s not the Ritz but then it doesn’t charge Ritz prices.
