A really disappointing night at the Nant Ddu. The whole place is tired and in need of serious attention. The room and public spaces lack character and atmosphere. The spa area is really run down. The bar was closed which we weren't told when booking. No effort to provide a welcoming, comfortable and enjoyable stay. The food was nice and the waiting staff were very good. Unfortunately the overall dining experience was compromised by the dreary dining area. I certainly will not be returning unless the hotel undergoes a refurbishment.

The Spa and Swimming Pool are had tiles missing and was unclean. The Staff were complaining about working on the reception in front of paying guests. The Room was clean, but the bathroom was not, no power in the shower. Cracked sockets on the wall. Room was situated under a stairwell and was constantly noisy. Reception staff uninterested and never got a reply to the email of complaint. Beauticians were lovely with a good standard of care, and the food in the bar was also nice but overpriced.
It's not what it used to be

We stayed there many times before for easy access to Brecon Beacons. We understand Covid has been difficult for small independent establishments like this but the whole place looks dated and very run down. From musty bathrooms, dripping taps, damp robes (wrapped in plastic bags before they were dry), sockets falling off the walls, green algae on windows by the pool, to over cooked fish and undercooked aubergine, no proper espresso maker in the restaurant. There aren't many reasons to go back.

The best I can say is that the food was amazing The service however was very slow from bringing a drink once ordered to bringing each course we had to wait ages between courses at both dinner and breakfast. We booked a suit which was more like a chalet at a holiday camp. Very dated needed painting furniture needed replacing especially the sopha bed. Bathroom was also in need of work. It was very over priced for what you got Don't have any plans to return
Friendly and warm welcome in the place in need of an update.

Friendly and warm welcome, excellent surroundings lovely gardens. This place is however only given an average rating as the interior is in dire need of a refresh. The bed was comfortable if you like a soft mattress our proximity to the pool coupled with the weather didn't help the humidity and there was also a definite damp smell in one corner. I reported the amount of dust behind the bed and bedside tables and the reception team were apologetic and offered to take care of it so they are very helpful. The pool area and gym are also in need of an update. Don't let this put you off it didn't ruin our stay and the welcome we received certainly went a long way.
