Excellent stay
I stayed at this hotel for 6 nights, travelling for work. Location is perfect with close by the subway station St. Paul, Thameslink train with Luton and Gatwick airport connections. Surrounding areas is very nice to walk in with lots of places to shop and eat. I very much enjoyed the free snacks in the hotel every morning. Staff was very nice and very accomodating. I will definitely come back there!
It served it’s purpose
The staff was great. The walls are thin and the plumbing knocks. They ran out of hot water one morning. A lady of the evening was entertaining 2 rooms down and was very popular, she had appointments every hour on the hour. Thin walls like I said. The room was missing the mini fridge, microwave, and TV remote didn’t work. Staff fixed these issues right away. Windows did not function properly. There was construction across the street, but this is beyond their control.
2 week stay
Enjoyable stay in good rooms. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. Richard and Pilar at the front desk are especially useful in recommendations about places to eat out or simply to have a drink at.
Dated and noisy
The hotel is in a good location, being situated next to St Paul's Cathedral, a shopping mall and restaurants and bars...however this also has it's downside as it's very noisy! The Cathedral bells chimed on the hour, every hour and also in between, so I knew throughout the night what time it was. The plumbing in the bathroom was also really noisy and made a loud humming/ buzzing sound when I turned the taps on or flushed the toilet. There was also no duvet on the bed - just a sheet and bed cover, which is not adequate enough considering the temperatures outside. This didn't make for a very comfortable night's sleep. As we went out for dinner and when I came back quite late, went straight to bed, I didn't bother to inform hotel staff as I was too tired. The hotel is pretty dated inside, the rooms and decor particularly. Probably wouldn't stay again.
Hotel reception staff Richard and Pilar were amazing.
Had a really comfortable stay and hotel is perfectly situated. The reception staff Richard and Pilar were ever so welcoming and went above and beyond for anything. Can’t recommend this hotel enough! Hotel reception staff have good recommendations for food.
