More about the hotel
Really disapointing
The only way this place can subsist is because the non refundable prenotation in booking.com The place is untidy, don't match with de neighbourhood. Don't have elevators, and you have to go upstears and downstears.
Not excruciatingly bad, though the long narrow stairs may be hazardous
Affordable hotel centre of London. Room was a bit old and worn. There are no lifts so a room nearer ground floor would be better if carrying heavy luggage, or have children, or any situation requiring movement with more ease. It is possible to slip on the carpeted stairs which are long and narrow. All in all, not excruciatingly bad. Could possibly stay again.
Don't go
The only good is the point... Anything else it's bad... No elevator Bad breakfast No friently staff. They don't care about their customers. No clean. Bad wifi. This hotel was only one bad point in our trip...
You get what you pay for
It's London, everything is overpriced so on balance, this place is if nothing else, affordable. Just don't expect luxury or even the usual nice little touches such as toiletries (which I'm sure were mentioned in the ad' by the way) The room was tired but reasonably clean. It felt somewhat 'seedy' which might be a result of it being in the basement with no window to the outside world. I can imagine it's horrible in the heat of summer. You get added value if you like trains as the underground is clearly audible but I slept surprisingly well (must have been very tired) Breakfast was ok and included in the price which is a rarity these days. Consisted of the usual beige continental buffet stuff with a choice of egg served as fried or omelette. All in all, a bit clunky, a bit dated and a shade claustrophobic but as I say, it's London and the standards have dropped overall for what we as consumers are prepared to pay, so we can only blame ourselves.
Good value room last minute
We arrived on foot at 11:30 at night, and the room rate was half of the next expensive one in the vincinity that had vacancies. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful and we we could look at the room and try the Wifi, before booking in. We slept very well and the shower had very hot water, and only in the afternoon it took a while for this to arrive. Very good location, only about 5 mins walk from Paddington Station. Interesting shops and restaurants nearby. Breakfeast was rather basic and tasted well. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Rather quiet as well. Would go here again.
