Would not recommend

This hotel is very dated and in desperate need of refurbishment. Our room had rubbish in from previous guests and the heating was broken they did put a plug in heater in the room. The shower would only run cold we did report to reception. The bar only had one staff member so service was ridiculously slow. Will not be returning.

Ideal location for quick access to tubes and buses.

Our hotel of choice when visiting London because of its nearby location to tube and bus stops. Nearby Queensway has a good choice of restaurants. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Breakfasts are good but limited menu for dinner. Very slow service in the bar but we have always been aware of this.

Lovely Hotel in a great location

The Lancaster Gate Hotel is in a superb location. Many attractions are within walking distance, and it's proximity to Hyde park is a real bonus. Tube stations are minutes away. The hotel itself is great. The rooms are not huge, but that is to be expected in London at this price range. My only real criticism is that the beds are too firm, but I appreciate this is a personal preference. Breakfast was lovely, but can get busy at times. There was a good selection of hot and cold foods, all good quality and prepared fresh. Great coffee. The front of house and the restaurant staff were all helpful and friendly. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel. Make sure you try the Leinster Arms pub, just around the corner. The food is gorgeous.

Bad service

There guests are waking up the entire neighborhood! Honking with there cars on the parking spot of the hotel for ours for a wedding celebration. This was Sunday night until after 1am. When I ask the receptionist to tell them to keep it down he said he couldn’t do anything

Lancaster GREAT Hotel

No easy parking options but buses and Queensway tube on Central line are nearby. Walking from tube passes a Little Waitrose in a garage where nibbles can be picked up cheaply. Trouble free book in with plenty of info regarding meal times and facilities. Triple room on the 5th floor (520) was spotless and well stocked. A little tight for space and the toilet roll holder was a very snug fit near the pan. Full size mirror on the room side of the toilet door was a fright in the middle of the night, though I suppose that depends on who is reflected. Room was excessively hot on the first night requiring the window to be left open to its maximum allowed 4" to cool on the second night. Cool air flow was slight. Mattresses were firm and comfortable. Plenty of toiletries provided as well as tea and coffee makings. Evening meal menu is compact but tasteful, especially the BBQ sauce on the ribs. We were satisfied. Breakfast is a delight. Masses of choice both hot and cold, meat and fruit. Cereal and squash. Endless tea and coffee. Staff were exceptionally busy restocking and clearing away. Precision planning. Fried eggs were to order but not advertised. Had to ask. Meal kept us going well into the afternoon. Lounge was comfortable and airy. A good space to relax and people watch. Set back one road from busy Bayswater, this hotel is ideally located and a quiet stay, easily accessible to the tourist sights of The Big Smoke. (London). Highly recommended for cleanliness and value for money,
