Grand hotel in great Leicester Square location.

Grand old hotel in prime Leicester Square location offers excellent base for exploring. Superior room was a little tired - carpet and furniture were not superior! On a positive note the bed was great: big and comfortable. Restaurant offers limited selection of food but what it offers is excellent. Staff were all helpful and professional. Would recommend.
Not 5 star

Great location. But that shouldn't affect the star rating. Room decor is fairly oldly worldly, and none of the wow I would expect in a 5 star hotel. Missing little touches such as turn down services, chocolate on pillow. Just something wow. Slept well, bed was comfy Bathroom is small, and was far too warm and was unable to turn down heat rail. Could really do with a night light in there. It has ceiling and wall lights but unfortunately you have everything on or none. There was nothing special or wow in the bathroom either, ceiling was peeling a little to. There's another hotel just 2 doors down, and was envious we weren't staying there, as there was something about it that really screamed 5 stars.

Disastrous experience at check in & check out; - Check in very slow/dead...took long time for a pre-paid reservation. - Check out, even slower with the same agent, a trainee - Got charged £78.00 for 2 days mornings breakfast when had not ordered the 2nd day, was waive, luckily desk manager was around - paid £39.99 for 2 breakfasts in room ( 3 croissants, 2 slices cheeses, 2 slices ham, butter, jam, 2 half cups of coffee, NO HOT BREAKFAST) SHAMEFUL, WISH I KNEW, WOULD HAVE ORDERED MCDONALD.

The hotel was lovely, the staff were great and friendly throughout and nothing was too much trouble. It is in a prime location for the various theatres and Chinatown, with lots going on around the hotel.

Scruffy rip off. Never again. Our room looked like a dark scruffy Bedsit coating us £405 for 1 night. I’m never staying again. Staff were great but the actual hotel Was awful. I wouldn’t recommend my dog to stay there
