WORST HOTEL I’VE EVER HAD THE MISFORTUNE TO STAY AT - UTTER DISGRACE - FILTHY - Regrettably, this was the worst hotel experience I have had to memory. Initially I inquired the hours of room service as the was the main reason I chose this establishment as a treat and was told there was none ! 24 hour room service clearly listed as part of the stay on the website. Setting aside the obvious lack of investment and overall extreme dilapidation of the building in itself which is off putting & unsightly - the room was shocking. Upon entering the room, the lamps had either no bulb or a non working one while the over head one was flickering badly. I requested this to be fixed and left as I was running late to an event. Returning I went to the fridge for the bottled water, listed as part of my stay on the website, to not only find no water but a THREE WEEK OLD rotting whole chicken carcass, a head of lettuce and a stale baguette inside a dirty fridge. I looked for a glass and found the first one dirty. Taking the second I headed to the bathroom for water where I was greeted by a faucet more resembling some sort of sewage outlet - crusted with limescale and filthy. The bin was filled from the previous occupant. The bed side stand offered a used face mask and some take away junk from a previous occupant. There was no tea nor coffee in the room. No robe nor slippers also as listed on the website. No loo roll on the hanger. The dust or dead skin debris in/on the bed frame and under the bed was thick and just gross. I could go on. I made several trips to the night manager(s) initially seeking a room that had actually been cleaned. I was told the hotel was fully booked. We are in the middle of a pandemic and clearly zero Covid protocols, if in existence, were followed. I was met with disdain when I asked for some cleaning products. I wanted* someone to come and clean my room surfaces or at the very least take away the rotting food, Covid waste and bin contents. There was no apology and I was told housekeeping would sort it out the next day which was scant help to me staying the one night. I did request some tea and coffee which appeared but lacking a suitable source of water I did not make use of. The 1st night manager asked, “Didn’t I read the online reviews”? Somehow implying I was to blame for this situation I found myself in! (I have now and the majority of your most recent reviews are scathing! ) The second night manager was rude, surly, unapologetic and completely unsuited to a front of house hospitality job. The only nice thing I have to say was that the weekend manager Ali was thoughtful, appropriate and apologetic about the situation although he said he did not possess the necessary authority to refund my stay on the spot. Someone with the level of responsibility really ought to be available at all times. I had emailed and phoned daily abs a manger to apologise and refund is never present to rectify. This hotel has no business being in business. If there was a lower than 1 rating - this is it !
A complete and utter disgrace

This was undoubtedly one of the worst stays of my life. When I arrived I was not greeted and was dealt with most rudely and unorganised . The studio room I had taken was not up to par with what I was sold on it to be. It didn’t have any of the noted features I was sold it on. The door to my room was ajar on arrival. There were holes in the wall and ripped / cut up sheets over the bed at headboard?! Filthy room with stains all over the walls and ceilings. For 600€ for two night, this was the worst value I’ve ever had. Staff were terrible at being hospitable. I understand why prepayment was required with the caveat that it would be totally no refundable. If there were less than 1 star, that’s what it would be .

Unbelievably bad hotel in dire need of repair and redecorating. Room was damp, tiny, wallpaper peeling off walls. Corridor carpet filthy and threadbare. Its a shame as this hotel is in a lovely location and has huge potential. How cam owners let it get to this state, Do not stay here.
Simply don’t go there!

We checked in on the 8th for two nights, using Virgin Experience vouchers. We went to our room, to find just one towel for two of us for two nights! Only two tiny portions of milk. After we complained this was put right. We discovered that after flushing the toilet it took the cistern hours to fill up again. I had to the fill the cistern using the shower head to do so. Next morning we asked where breakfast was served. The pony tailed guy kept talking on the phone the whole time he deal with us. He said for tea and coffee we had to go outside to a small stall to get them. Thank goodness it was a dry day. No I have had in my travels so poor breakfasts, but this was something else. Fruit juice and toast. No marmalade, only jam! They simply did not care. To say it was bed and breakfast, they should be done under the trades description act. All the adverse remarks on trip advisor are true, believe me. We complained at 4pm about the cistern problem. That had be ongoing all day. Asked for a change of room, so they kindly offered us a better room on the fourth floor, guess what the lift was not working. I told them that when I booked I asked for a ground floor room due to my age, I’m 81, and have health issues. I didn’t want to die manoeuvring those dam stairs. So we HAD to stay in our original room on the ground floor. We went out to eat, when we came back to our room, the toilet had been fixed. Then this morning, we were back to just one towel in the bathroom! Clearly leaving one the first day was not a mistake, it must be their policy. The Iranian owner simply ignored us, and would not speak to us in person . The person who came out of this with any credit was Roxana she is a delightful Rumanian girl who is far to good to be working in this dump. She was as helpful as she could be under the circumstances. Frankly Virgin Experience should take this off their voucher scheme, they only have to look at the awful reviews, and know some of these are clients, who deserve better.
