What a great experience! This is an excellent conference hotel. Large rooms, great foods at all meals, polite employees who aids you with a smile. Bar in the basement has two shuffleboards. Great fun. I am happy to know I am coming back

Stately hotel, smiling staff

Went there on a business trip. Staff was very welcoming, and the meeting room was state-of-the-art. Bedroom on 1st floor overlooked the golf course just outside. Some music noise from the bar or somewhere at night, but it died off after midnight. OK continental breakfast, considering COVID-19. Dinner was otherworldly; see separate review.

Excellent well-being throughout our experience

Reviewed 11 november, 2019

We had a family experience here from Saturday to Sunday taking part in an arrangement which consisted of wine-tasting together with a three course dinner, overnight stay and breakfast. We were part of a slightly larger group who had made the same choice. We did not know on beforehand, what we would get served of food and drinks, but our expectations were high. We were certainly not disappointed, we were rather impressed. The progress of the program was in a way straight forward, but the program had several high lights. We were met with an aperitif, a white champagne from Moët & Chandon. Our three courses were each paired with two wines. The quality of food and wine were first class and very good tuned to each other. Every wine was informatively presented, nothing happened in a hurry, there were time for questions and remarks. The sommelier was very knowledgeable and interesting to listen to. We really enjoyed this meal, to us it was an experience to remember. After some time to sum up the impressions the day was about to end. We went to our rooms and had a peaceful night in comfortable beds. Next morning's breakfast was rich in choices and we left with only good memories, indeed also from the friendly and service minded staff. Thanks a lot all of you.

Nice grounds- beat up hallways

Reviewed 1 november, 2019

The gruonds and the hotel it self looks amazing from the outside. The rooms are nice aswell, and the breakfast ok. The hiking paths around the hotel+ history about the area is also very interesting. When we stayed at the hotel, there was a wedding going on, meaning we could not use the old livingrooms and the old part of the hotel- which was a huge dissapoinment. The other places you could "hang out" are new and fresh, but we were there for the old part...The dinner is ok, but not VERY good. The hallways also look pretty beat up and the wallpaper is badly cratched up, and it looks like there has been living tigers there for a few years Also, on our porch, there was mold on the balcony fence, in need of a good clean- and maybe paint. It proboly expenvice to take care of such a big property, so maybe lowering the price on the nicer room (like the one we stayed in) would make the price match the grounds better. Also, the lobby area is NOT very cozy. Learn from other historic hotels :)

Lovely old hotel in perfect settings

Reviewed 27 august, 2019

The hotel combines old with modern in a very nice way. Located on a golf course, a fair distance from Oslo, this place provides peace, comfort - and an opportunity to play a game of golf. My room was nice, but with some wear and tear an old hotel is expected to have. Opening the door to the balcony, I was able to take in peace and beauty at my leisure. Recommended!
