They rob you

Reviewed 23 march, 2023

I am appalled at this hotel as were charged 87 dollars for a late checkout when we checked out on time. Have called to try and sort but just sent round in circles. Don't stay here they Rob you. It is conveniently located but wished we hadn't stayed because of the stress it has caused us.

Hotel does a job but I had a bad experience

Reviewed 4 march, 2023

We spent less than 20 hours here as we waited for an onward flight. We found the airport shuttle to be efficient and helpful with the room clean and comfortable and a decent view why was I disappointed? On checking out at 5am, I found a charge for a telephone call, this I disputed as I know we did not make a call and was not satisfied with the hotels response of it must have been you. If I am ever in this area again I would not stay here as I feel that they made up the charge, leaving me no way to dispute it, so to me I felt wronged and it is a trust issue.

Time to move on, this is now 2.5 star....

Reviewed 27 february, 2023

Downgraded gradually through the years. I have been staying here for 20 years, and now it is more a 2.5 star hotel. Drab corridors, rooms need repair, lamp was falling apart. Dining? Of course no more room service, which was great back then. Now Daily Grill is a shadow of former self. Burgers re competing with McDonalds, caesar salad...is that the cheap Walmart dressing? Time to move on. Me to another hotel, Westin to new owners.. Sad.

Comfortable, but not restful

Reviewed 23 february, 2023

I made the easy walk down Century Blvd after arriving at LAX. The hotel provides a shuttle service, but it was nice to stretch my legs after the six-hour flight (walk took about 30 minutes, along well-lit sidewalks). Check-in was easy, room was clean. The public spaces looked current to brand standards, but furniture in room appeared tired and worn. USB plug on nightstand indicated my phone was charging, but don't count on it as a lightning charger - my phone's battery was 4% lower in the morning. The bed was comfortable, but sleep was restless. Paper thin walls didn't absorb any of the coughing coming from my neighbor's room. I also knew whenever a motorcycle, loud engine, or emergency vehicle was passing by outside. No folio ever arrived via email; I finally saw a copy of the bill when it posted to my Bonvoy profile six days later. I was charged $3 for TakeCare Relief, a charitable organization to support Marriott employees affected by natural disasters. The line item says it was optional. I was never asked nor notified of this added charge.
