We were warmly greeted upon our arrival and were provided an upgraded room for our stay. The room was on a high level with nice views of the street below and surrounding buildings. It was spacious and offered nice seating areas as well as an additional sink and counter space. The closet was equipped with sliding doors which were both off the rails and did not function properly but we were still able to use the space. The digital clock display did not work but we had our phones to help us with the time and alarm. The bathroom was larger than most and was very clean. Even though we were on a high floor, the street noise was above average with fairly constant siren noise due to the fire and rescue traffic as well as low-flying jets from the nearby airport. * In fairness to the hotel, there was a sign posted at the front desk stating that the location was in a very busy area with many events and an increased noise level. The public seating and breakfast areas were large and very nice. We completed our check-out digitally but during our review of the emailed statement, found that we had been charged almost 3x the amount we should have been charged for our stay. I called the hotel the following day and explained the billing concern. They saw our original booking price in their system and politely adjusted our bill back to the correct amount stating that the free room upgrade must not have been handled correctly in their system. Our stay was overall a pleasant one. With just a little more attention to room details / repairs by the staff and if we had experienced an accurate billing upon departure, we would have been able to provide this establishment with a five star rating.
Beautiful hotel-Disturbing Electronic Problems

I stayed at the Hampton Inn Downtown Louisville on 11/25/21. The hotel is beuatiful, updated, comfortable, clean. Two isssues will make me think twce before staying there again. The first was that from about 8 pm until after 9:30 pm, NONE of the television channels were working. The video and audio stream froze more than once/ minute. The next morning, the clerk explained that this was caused by bad weather affecting their satellite gear. The second issue was that the fire alarm went off at 4:50 a.m. and was on for some time. This was Thanksgiving night and very few rooms were occupied. When I called the front desk, the clerk explained that this was probably just an equipment failure and that the fire department had been called to turn off the alarm. As she was not certain, this seems like VERY RECKLESS ADVICE to give to guests. What if it had been a real fire? Seems that this hotel needs to upgrade their equipment AND to retrain staff. Also, there was an apparently homeless man with the shakes sitting with his head curled into his lap less than 15 feet from the front desk and in clear view from the front desk for 2 hours in the cold early morning. The man at the desk clained he did not see him. Absurd!
BEDBUGS BEDBUGS BEDBUGS

First night I woke up being bitten by something. Searched the bed and couldn’t find anything. Same thing the next night. Woke up and saw a few bedbugs crawling on the sheets. I have 18 bites, had to throw out my suitcase and buy a new one. Spent a night at a sketchy laundromat to heat my clothes. Throw away a lot of my other things. When I told the person at the desk, they asked if I wanted to move rooms! No apologies when I checked out that afternoon to go to a different hotel. They credited the first 2 nights but no offer to pay for any of my belongings. Very poor service!! No compassion! Never heard from the manager- nothing! Be careful! Check your room!!
No juice at breakfast!

My daughter, my two grandchildren and I spent the weekend of Oct. 23rd at the hotel, we were there for a wedding in town... Everything went well except that at breakfast there was no juice (breakfast was included in price of room). Very disappointing especially since approx half of hotel's guest were children... There was a sign "out of service" during the two days we were there paying approx $170 a night... No fresh fruit either (that I could see). Could easily been resolved by offering guest assorted small carton juice containers placed in a bowl of ice... Wake up people in management!!!

Convenient location. Lots of homeless people but that is more to do with downtown Louisville than hotel. Felt safe regardless. I would recommend this property. Ample parking and easy access to Whiskey Row
