A perfect stay at a perfect place! Phil and Ness are so welcoming and helpful, no request is too much trouble, what a team! Delicious breakfast with lots of homemade treats - Ness’s bread is to die for! A view like no other from the comfortable lounge, we spent our last night with a cheeky gin or two, playing scrabble and looking back on a wonderful stay. Can’t recommend enough this little gem of a place, seriously can’t wait to return. Thank you Phil and Ness, from Hayley and Chris xx

Another great stay in Lynton

This August, we had our third visit to Lynton and our third stay at Rockvale House. We love this B+B. The breakfasts are plentiful, using good quality ingredients. An amazing choice of food, including many delicious homemade items. Your individual menu choices and the time you want to arrive in the dining room, are made by guests the night before on an easy to understand menu card. All the food is freshly prepared and served at the table, as apposed to buffet style, which is perfect as people wandering around in the space available could be awkward and potentially disturbing to other guests. You will struggle to find such an amenable, helpful couple than Ness and Phil, the right combination of professionalism and friendly conversation. The rooms are comfortable, very clean and there is fresh milk and water provided daily, which is a nice little extra. If you like walking, you will love this area, there are some challenging walks available, but plenty of easier routes too. The local restaurants are very good, but you need to book ahead in most cases.

WOW , what a fantastic 2 night stay we had. It's worth coming just for the breakfast and smiles. I dont think breakfast will ever be the same for us again. Lovely chats too. I certainly recommend this B & B . It is close to everything you would ever want in this region. Great stay with memories Keith & Olga Holmes

A very sweet BnB with a nice view, excellent hosts, clean beautiful rooms and fantastic breakfast! The rooms are very quiet, there is free parking in the yard and you can walk 5mins to the centre of Lynton. We had a very nice time there and definitely recommend and come back!

Rockvale house was a perfect place to spent 5 days with its fantastic location and wonderful terrace. Phil and Ness were amazing hosts who could not do enough for us. Ness' scrumptious breakfasts were only matched by Phil's perfectly proportioned afternoon G&Ts of which we sampled a few as the sun set over sleepy Lynmouth. Lynton was a real gem with its quaint streets and bijou restaurants, Phil and Ness were happy to point us to their favourites. The funicular down to Lynmouth was wonderful but Neil's taxi back was better and cheaper 😉 The views from Rockvale's terrace captivated the soul, lifelong memories were made and the world was put to rights as Phil poured the Wicked Wolf gin and tonics. You couldn't ask for more..
