Glad we only stayed one night

We slept here for one night, glad it wasn't any longer. Can confirm like other users on this platform that it's located in a "ghetto " area. We felt very uneasy. Its loud at night due to the many surrounding (sisha) bars and people hanging out in the streets.
Room didn't have air-conditioning. The room was dirty, there were hairs in the bed, the bedside table was sticky and frankly disgusting. Tried wiping it with some disinfecting spray and the paper towel came back brown and covered in dirt. Bathroom didnt seem very clean either.
Plusside, the it was pretty cheap and the breakfast had a large buffet with many choices.
Visit for rugby and a meal in the old town

This hotel is within the old part of Lyon and is ideally situated to sample the tradionnelle cuisine of lyon gastronomy in the old part of city and within walking distance to the metro to visit the matmut stadium for watch the rugby. The hotel (booked through Expedia) was a good price for the area and the staff were pleasant and friendly. There are bar facilities and a restaurant for meals(not used on this occasion), The book in time is not until 2.30pm, but there is provsion for luggage to be left before that time. The room albeit quite small was clean with drink making facilities with a shower and bath. We will use this hotel again for an overnight stay in Lyon again.

I stayed here in August and November and am returning in December. (Visiting my daughter on her erasmus year). On both visits to date I have found the rooms, whilst compact clean.and well maintained. The beds have been very comfortable. The rooms have a decent hairdryer, fab showers, free wifi, tv and tea and coffee facilities, which the staff are only too happy to top up.
Breakfast is mainly continental (although there is bacon, sausage and egg available - just not my choice) lovely and fresh selection of meats, cheese, fruit, cereal, breads, juices and hot drinks - self serve.
The staff, different on both visits, have always been welcoming and friendly.
Location wise - perfect, close to trams and buses and easy to access to main train station. Easy to access all sights of interest.
My husband and I look forward to revisiting in early December.. the only downside the price in December (during festival of lights) is nearly treble... but that appears to be a similar trend in other hotels at this time.
Overall, an enjoyable stay.

Well where do you start the really poor hotel , dingy room , curtains hanging off , and carpet that need clean , portable toilets out side reception in the street , probably the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in .
Good location, small rooms - OK for one or two night stopover

I stayed at the Campanile Berge du Rhone as I needed a cheap hotel in the centre of Lyon. The hotel has a good location near the river and not far from metro and tram stop. The rooms are quite small and mine looked out at another building around 3 metres away so quite dark. Room cleaning could be improved not helped by the 'cheap' design' e.g. limited wardrobe space. Positives - staff friendly and helpful and good shower and breakfast OK despite in my opinion poor quality baguettes.
