HIDDEN GEM - Home away from home
Reviewed 31 January, 2021
We loved it here on our first visit and felt again home on our second visit!
It is a beautiful place located right in front of one of the most beautiful stretches of quite, safe, amazing beaches.
The welcome of Enrico and Camilla is genuinely friendly, the all team and their daughters all contribute to ensure the Water front guests a pleasant, relaxing stay.
And they succeed!
They also run the house restaurant that caters breakfast lunch and dinner by the pool or served foot on the beach.
Wifi is consistent and all areas are very well served, cleaning is detailed and views are stunning
Good place for a weekend or for long stays , during the pandemic we found this place to be the perfect hidden gem to relax, work and take the most of the beach life
New and on a stunning beach

Great 6 day stay here. Italian operators who run this place could not have been more accomodating. Very attentive and happy to arrange transportation etc for us. Manuel saw to our every need food and drink wise. He works very hard every day.
Units are nice if a bit under stocked. They could use a few more common housewares items, like coffee makers, corkscrews, proper cookiware. This is being a little nitpicking but if you're offering apartment style accommodations these are things to consider.
You are a bit isolated here and are not really walking to any services. That said, it's the isolation that is this places charm. The beach is gorgeous and not crowded at all.
We will return.
Good views, but expensive

This flat is good if you plan to share the room with friends and cook food all trip. Otherwise you pay a lot for the view. Manoel is the best and get all you need. Food is not good. Rooms are clean and big, good bathroom and nice touch with the redes. Deco is nice and modern. The view is wonderful and the beach also top notch.
Ipioca/Maceio Gem Hotel

Residence waterfront is amazing and worth the taxi ride from Maceió. The beach is semi-private and just steps away from your room. The rooms are 2 bed-2 bath with a small kitchen, so great for a few couples that are looking to get away for a super relaxing weekend or some friends.
If you'd rather not cook, the hotel has full service restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast is a typical Brazilian continental layout. Not horrible, not amazing. Lunch and dinner are the same menu. Some gems of course (shrimp, pizza) and some other solid options (risotto, fish) but nothing that will make you think of a 5 star restaurant. All reasonable and right there. There are a few other restaurants within a taxi/ drive away but you wouldn't drive back to Maceió for a meal...too far.
The highlight is the beach, pool and bar. Get ready for relaxing, great service and not any crowds...either at the pool or beach.
The showers are hot and the beds are slightly above average. Nothing that will make you forget about home nor make you desire to be back in your bed.
In the end, you'll be glad you went out of your way for a long weekend (or longer) stay at the place.
But speaking Portuguese is important (or Spanish/Italian).
I rate it excellent for the pool, semi private beach and overall feeling of relaxation I walk away with.

This resort has great potential but is not there yet. I paid $900 for the week and the accommodations were not worth that. The beachfront 2 bedroom was OK (view is great), but it was like they stopped working on the unit and didn't complete the "final touches". Some of the recess light fixtures in the bathroom were not installed and we could see into the ceiling above, the balcony door was not put on track properly so there was a gap when the door was closed that allowed mosquitoes to come in. The side table in the bedrooms were just shelves adhered to the wall that were coming out from the studs - so we couldn't sit anything of weight on them. The kitchen appliances (coffee pot, grill) were old, dirty, and rusty. The pots & pans were also old but functional. The shower in the 2nd bathroom didn't drain well and you were quickly in a bath. The master shower leaked when being used, so a pool of water was on the floor each time you showered (we kept towels down to soak up water). And sometimes there was no hot water at all - at different times of day. I took two cold showers in the week we were there. Also, the sofa was old and stained like it was brought second-hand. Since NO ONE speaks any English, it was not worth the effort it would have taken to communicate these problems. It was enough trying to ask for washcloths, which we discovered the hotel does not have as they assume people wash with just a bar of soap (one of the housekeepers actually gave me a demo of how to wash with just soap). The sole restaurant on premises is fair. If the management takes the time to complete these minor details to make a quality room - not just a good looking room on the surface, this would be a great place. Also be aware it is in a very poor area - everything around the hotel is slum or under construction.
Now, the staff were GREAT and made the stay comfortable. Manuel is the BEST - and his drinks are on point. The front desk staff did correct an issue with our dinner that we brought to their attention by hiring a car to take us to a great place to eat. They arranged transportation to & from the city that was prompt, waited for us, and took us wherever. They even arranged an English tour guide for us (as I said NO ONE speaks English), Gabrielle, who was wonderful. Everyone was just friendly and helpful - and met our needs. The hotel just needs to bring the room quality up to match the quality of the operating staff.
