Favorite place

Reviewed 19 march, 2023

The hotel was perfect for my family. It had a very nice pool area and free access to a waterpark for our kids. You could see the bridge lights at night, it was so beautiful. We were lucky enough to see the northern lights from our room. All around a wonderful vacation. Breakfast had something for everyone with both hot and cold foods. This might be our new favorite place!

Mixed feelings

Reviewed 16 march, 2023

We stayed here because our regular chain hotels were closed for the season. We were glad to have a place right by the frozen lake, though. I requested a lakeview room with a balcony, but I ended up with a porch. There was already trash in the trash can and we found candy tucked up under the comforter of the made bed. We found what looked like chocolate stains on the bed and pillow. The pool left a chalky feel on our skin. It also discolored swimsuits and jewelry. The alarm in the room went off at 5:45 am! There were two hot breakfast items-ham and pancakes-as well as fruit and bread items. This could be a beautiful place, but that would require attention to detail. Someone clearly came into this room after it was made up for the next guest. Sad.

The Hamilton Inn is gorgeous. I. My first impressions? Amazing. Gorgeous. Hard to Find. These 3 words describe the looks and the attitude of the hotel. I'll be staying here for 11 days and nights. I've got an upgraded room on the lake. The upgraded room includes a free breakfast here. The breakfast s a variety of flavorful choices. The hotel decor is by far one of the nicest I've ever seen. Playful and stylish, tasteful yet trendy. It features cool greens and reds, with wooden trim. Amenities? I have been using the free internet everyday, typing out these little notes. The gym is actually a gym with free weights. Most hotel gyms consist of only a stairmaster and treadmill with maybe a little universal. The Hamilton has a universal machine, treadmills and free weights. It also has a sound system and TV.

Terrible customer service

The man with the shaved head who works the desk is the worst person I have ever had to deal with. Look up bad hotel experience in Mackinaw City. You’ll see him from the Crown. Now they moved him and he’s terrible. Fire him already.

Clean room, needs updating.

Reviewed 5 february, 2023

We arrived around 9 pm and it was very cold out. The hotel hallway near our room and our room were freezing. We turned on the heat and went to the pool area while it warmed up. The pool area needs to be updated along with the majority of the hotel. The room was very large which was nice and it was clean. The breakfast the next morning was horrible. Some ham slices, rock-hard pancakes, cornflakes, apples, granola bars, bread and bagels. Coffee was 2 floors down. I am not holding this against the hotel as it's off-season. I do wish they would have at least turned the heat up in our room before we arrived. I would stay here again. But it wouldn't be my first choice.
