Relaxing hotspring bath, but the place needs some TLC.
The best thing about this place is the nice and warm hotspring bath that is free for the resort guests to use. I spent almost an hour there and found it to be quite relaxing. The double room I booked was of the standard type. Not the luxury ones next to the river. But my room was ok. Nice and clean and I had a good night sleep after that hotspring bath. The weak point of this resort is that it is quite run down in many areas around the resort. The front and the reception look nice. But the further inside you go, the more "old and outdated" this place looks. All in all, for the price I paid and the facility I used, it was a good deal.
Day visit to use the hot springs and pool
This place has so much potential. It’s a real shame that it seems to have been so badly let go. I visited just for the day to use the hot spring and pool. I chose to go here because it was only 100baht entry rather than 300baht or more for the Tha Pai Hot Springs which is very close by. I also figured it would be quieter. It was easy to find. You pay the entrance fee and receive a ticket. There are little signs next to the path to direct you. The hot spring was 40°C and I found it very pleasant. There are some toilets/change rooms close by. They are not so much dirty as just old and run down, just like the entire ‘resort’ really. The pool is at the opposite end. It was large, cool and had a nice view of the river. There are old wooden sun beds on the deck, but not all have a mattress. Everything is out in the direct sun, there is no shade at all. I stayed for about 1.5hours. It was fine for I paid and definitely very quiet. It would be awesome if someone took over and really gave the place some much need TLC. It could truly be an outstanding place to both stay and/or visit for the day.
Nice property, a little ou of town
Stayed here for 4 nights. Has a great pool right on the river,, really nice hot springs and the staff are very friendly. Easy enough to get a shuttle to town when need. Also a great little spa for a massage. Rooms(economy) are adequate. Could use a little upgrade. Beautiful grounds and if you lucky you might see an elephant from the center down the road walk by. Some staff have difficulty with English but they tried very hard to understand.
Day Use Only
We visited the resort and spa for the day after being let down by the natural hot springs at the national park. We throughly enjoyed our visit but I took away a star for the restaurant as the food was just not great. Great massage for 450 Baht with use of resort facilities to include swimming pool and hot springs pools. The temperature of the smaller hot spring was super hot but one could manage to get in for a quick dip or two for a few seconds without scolding. The gardens seem well maintained for a three star resort in Thailand. Nice grounds with beautiful mountain and review views and nice sunlight during golden hour. You may also get a chance to see some elephants walking down from the restaurant or the larger pool. The large pool is refreshing and clean. The smaller pool was dirtied with leaves and looked a bit older. There are a few sun beds on the patio but there were no cushions. The larger hot spring is a comfortable temperature and possibly smelly from sulfur? Overall, I recommend a day pass as there isn't much to experience luxury wise in Pai anyways. I was able to take a peak inside the superior rooms which are located closet to the pool and they seemed well maintained and clean. There are other rooms on this resort that do appear depressing and in need of some TLC though. All I kept thinking the entire time we visited was this must have been an amazing resort when it was first built. The staff were friendly and as a matter of fact once we paid our fee we never really seen or heard from them again. Great way to spend a few hours of your day. We were grateful to find the place because we came from a real slum called the Rainbow house. Now that one was atrocious! Travel tip: Bring shower shoes, towel and mosquito spray!
Day Use of Pool
We took a trip out here on the moped (short distance from Pai Centre). For 100 baht we got access to the marvellous pool (and hotspring) located just off the river it gives a beautiful setting into the countryside. The place was pretty much empty all day as we chilled by the pool and relaxed. There are also changing facilities, toilets, free WiFi and a small bar at the pool. This is a no brainer and would suggest you check it out. Recommend strongly.
