Excellent Guest House in Magny-en-vexin

Reviewed 11 july, 2017

A super friendly guest house with modern re-furbished rooms and eating room for the ample breakfast in this town house close to the centre of town. The room were clean and modern and showers were very efficient and easy to get hot water. Owner was very eager to ensure all our needs were met. Bikes were stored safely and conveniently on the ground floor near the reception.

Very nice B&B in the town centre with free parking

I stayed at Maison de Ville for two nights while playing in a weekend chess tournament. It's a narrow house from the 1920s, completely renovated, with two rooms on the first floor and two on the second floor. The large rooms face the street and the small ones face the back. All of them have double beds, the ones at the back being smaller than the ones in the front. The bathrooms are unsealed partitions of the rooms and all have showers, the ones at the front being more spacious. I stayed on the second floor facing the road. There was triple glazing so there was no noise from the street but Magny-en-Vexin is a very small town so there isn't much traffic at night. There were two small armchairs in the room and a small coffee table. There was also a small fridge and microwave oven. There was a big heater in the room which eventually heated it up. The bed was comfortable. The Wifi worked well in the room and there was a flatscreen TV. There was a small living room on the ground floor. The breakfast room was there too and in summer you can sit outside. Breakfast was simple but nice. The owner and his son, who were both very friendly, made fresh orange juice. There was a good choice of teabags and they had a kettle available to boil the water so you could get a decent cup of tea. There was a croissant, baguette, bread and homemade jam from a local artisan. There were several nice restaurants nearby within walking distance and a few better ones a short drive away in the surrounding villages. I enjoyed my stay and would definitely come back again.
