Excellent Location
Spent a week here at the beginning of September. Interestingly, our initial experience was a bit like a "locked room" adventure. We had to buzz at the entrance gate to be let in and told to buzz again at the door to the apartments when we got there. At that point we were told the code for the main door and the combination for the safe in the lobby. We were also told to take a specific locked box out of the safe and then buzz again to be given the code for the box. The box contained card keys for the room but we had 24 hours to find another hotel where we had to check in or the keys would cease to work. Not the worst experience (quite amusing really) but it would have been handy to have had a heads up about it. The apartment itself was lovely. Clean, spacious and modern. The balcony was fairly large (four around a table would be more than do-able with plenty room to spare). Though one row back from the sea, we had a reasonable sea-view between the buildings in front. I'd imagine most, if not all, apartments would have a similar view. The buildings themselves had enough Mediterranean character to make them not unattractive. The one thing that took us aback a bit was the connecting door between our apartment and next door's. Not a problem in itself as it was locked. However, it meant you could hear every syllable of every conversation your neighbour's had. We also tended to speak in hushed tones ourselves. I can't say if this is a problem for all apartments. The location itself cannot be faulted. You are only two minutes from the Pine Walk and fifteen from the centre. There is a tidy grocery shop less than five minutes away and the hotel in front of the apartments is an extremely pleasant place to have drink or two on the way back from one the resort's many restaurants of an evening. I was tempted to give the apartments three stars due to the connecting door issues but feel everything else made up for this adequately enough. If we were to return to Porto Pollensa we would certainly consider booking again.
Great location
We stayed in august a last minute booking so we had a studio. The space was fine for two adults and one child but I think the one bedroom apartment would be better. The studio was cleaned every two days which was great. Lovely big spacious balcony overlooking the pool. Close to pine walk and all amenities which was fantastic. Pool clean but disappointed that all loungers were taken from very early on in morning and reserved all day even whilst people went for long lunches or shopping! Everyone booked the same holiday and to my knowledge that did not include the purchase of a dedicated sun lounger !
Great location and perfect for families.
We had room 232 on the second floor which gave a partial sea view. All accommodation overlooks the pool and apartment bedrooms have a window onto a quiet road. The block is a minute's walk to the waterside although it is a further walk to the beach. The walk is pedestrianised and safe and leads directly to the centre of town. We found our apartment to be spotless and everthing worked properly. The beds were comfortable and the shower was very powerful. The bedroom and living area had air-conditioning with individual controls. Rooms are serviced every other day. The "kitchen" consists of 2 electric rings and a microwave so can be frustrating. However, there are plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance. Car parking is on the road outside but it is free and we found a space without any trouble. A car would be needed to get to the proper supermarkets. Checking in can be a bit of a faff. There is a member of staff every morning but from lunchtime onwards, check in needs to be done at Hotel Bahia which is a 10 minute walk away. The pool is a good size and well maintained. There are a few beds - around 16 which is usually adequate. Unfortunately during our first week, a group reserved the majority of the beds early every morning (despite signs asking that this isn't done) and hogged them for the entire week. Sadly, that seems to be the selfish way of some Brits abroad. The apartments are great and perfect for families of 3 or 4 but no more. Would I recommend it - YES!
Fantastic Penthouse with Panoramic Views
I have been visiting Puerto Pollensa for 30 years and came out for a girls holiday and stayed at the Pollensamar. We booked the 1 bed apartment to share and it was 100% worth it - we had the penthouse apartment with a large terrace and panoramic views of the sea and the mountains. On the terrace was a large double lounger which caught the sun in the evening so after a day of lying by the pool where our loungers tended to lose the sun about 4pm, we would retire to our apartment and continue sunbathing there. All of the other apartment balconies looked like they didn't get any sun at all so if you are a sun worshipper I would highly recommend stretching for the apartment. The apartment was spacious, allowing us to each have our own space for sleeping - one in the bedroom and one in the living room. The bed in the living room is a proper bed with double mattress, not just a pull out sofa bed like you get in most hotels. The apartment was visited by cleaners every 2 days for clean sheets and towels. We loved the location as we are used to staying that end of the town and enjoying the walk down the pine walk in the evening to get dinner. The only downside I have to say about this accommodation is having to check-in at the Bahia which is about a ten minute walk down the pinewalk. As we are very familiar with Puerto Pollensa this was only a minor convenience for us and one that we planned for on our arrival to avoid having to then drag out luggage up the pine walk.
Does what it claims to do
If you are searching for self catering apartment that is clean, spacious and in a good location you can’t go far wrong with these apartments. My wife and I had a second floor apartment for ten nights in July. We found the rooms within the apartment to be very clean and to a good standard, large bed in air con room with decent sized bathroom(no bath shower only). The water was hot and good pressure. Balcony was spacious and you could glimpse the port through the buildings opposite. The kitchen with electric hobs worked for cooking for two, mostly breakfast for us. Cupboard space and fridge to store drinks and food was adequate. Maid service was very good and thorough. Swimming pool whilst rather small was large enough for the modest number of rooms of the hotel. If you got up early , likely you could be the only swimmer for an early morning dip. Location is off a very quiet street which runs parallel with the Pine Walk along the beach front. We favoured the more sandy beach which was approx 15 min walk along the Pine Walk. We are considering returning to these apartments next year. Great time!
