A dream became a Nightmare

We found this beautifully located niche hotel after some searches on the internet and we realised that it is a great value as for what the hotel, the area etc. has to offer when compared to the price we paid.
What we unfortunately didn't;t know is that the some of the surrounding villas are occupied by some of the most horrific French-Moroccans you can imagine. They actually make so much noise in the form of this typical "gangsta" music that it has ruined our holiday. During the day we had to flee the lovely swimming-pool from the hotel as the music kept irritating us and in the evening we couldn't open a window due to the same issue.
The direction of the hotel hasn't been able to do anything about it this loud music as these antisocial people as they seem to live there.
If you wanna go and enjoy Marrakech and like some peace and quite, don't go here !
Beautiful location, awful organization
Reviewed 27 November, 2018
Very nice hotel outside Marrakech: the location Is awesome, with beautiful furnitures, a SPA, swimming pool.
Unfortunately the organization of the staff Is very poor: we booked and paid the transfer from/to the Airport but at our arrival saturday night we discovered they did not have any reservation so we have ti use the taxi (nearly 60 euro night time). Once arrivederci at the hotel they give us a room but After the dinner, the giù advise US we need ti change It. In the second room the Heating was out of order, so we slept in the cold. The morning After a second guy told US they didn't received the reservation from the agency. He told US they Will offer US Two massages and the transfer from/to Marrakech centre. We stay there for 3 days. One massage was already included in our offer. At the checkout we haven't had our early breakfast (as promised) and we had to pay for the extras: transfer, water (Is an alcohol free hotel) and taxes. Nothing went good during our stay. Breakfast Is good, dinner Is poor on choice.
When we notify the Heating problem, the guy offer US to change room for the third time. Mini bar was quite empty, we drunk the water on the First night and we haven't had another One. The same for the bath product. We have to ask for the bath towel.
Where are the 5 stars? Very disappointed
Few days of joy in a wonderful hotel
Reviewed 19 October, 2018
We needed a break from London, travelling to work on crowded buses and trains, no time to do anything and the stress of everyday life. So we found a deal and jetted off to Marrakech for our first visit to Morocco.
The AG hotel is away from the busy touristy centre of Marrakech, its a 20 minute drive but worth it as the centre is crazy fun but a bit too much to stay slap bang in the middle of.
Hotel was nice, beds a little too firm but clean rooms with plenty of space. The Spa was really nice, gym not state of the art but suitable for a good work out.
What makes this place special is the staff, we made friends with the manager and when my wife said she wanted authentic Moroccan food he invited us into his home for a family meal which was the best food we had all trip.
Saying that though the chef and waiters at the hotel made lovely meals, if you are looking for a boozy party hotel then this is NOT the place for you. Its trendy decor and sweet smells with a fresh clean atmosphere made for a wellbeing break that we craved and deserved.
Pool was great, mint tea is yum and all in all this is a wonderful getaway.
ALCOHOL FREE HOTEL
Reviewed 18 July, 2018
We booked two rooms for a four night stay at the AG Hotel and Spa through Inspired Luxury Escapes to celebrate a friend’s birthday, and were pretty disappointed to discover on arrival that the hotel had a no alcohol policy. ILE have subsequently told us that they were unaware of the policy, which doesn’t say much for the checks they make before selling a holiday.
This is a boutique hotel about half an hour’s drive from Marrakech and is an oasis in the middle of a pretty barren landscape. The design of the public spaces was bright, modern and innovative. The rooms were spacious and well equipped and we loved that we had a view of the Atlas Mountains while having a shower. The WiFi was good and there was a well equipped gym, sauna and steam room. The fact that there was only one other couple staying at the hotel meant that there was an eerie silence about the place. The daily transport into Marrakech was most welcome and because we were the only people using it, we were able to come back earlier than the usual pick up time of 19.00 hrs.
Aside from the no alcohol policy and lack of guests, we were disappointed by the lack of choice in the food we were offered. We were staying on a half board basis and dinner was a set menu. We were offered chicken/beef tagine or pasta on three consecutive nights, with very basic starters and desserts. There was no breakfast buffet, but after a lengthy wait, we were brought a selection of bread, pancakes, pastries, cakes, and orange juice.
Staff were pleasant and helpful, and we were particularly impressed by the two guys behind reception on 12 hour shifts, who did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. They also had to multitask by helping out in the restaurant when necessary, and preparing food at lunchtime. There was a feeling that the hotel was being run by a skeleton staff, and the chef was missing, so maybe we were unlucky to be there at that time, which coincided with Ramadan. However, because of the no alcohol policy, we won’t be going back to find out.
Great hotel with excellent kitchen
Reviewed 3 February, 2018
Small and cozy hotel, very clean and with great and friendly personnel. Do not hesitate to ask the staff on reception or hotel driver for advice about day trips and "what to see" in Marakkech & surroundings. We tried food in the city but must admit, that hotel kitchen for dinner was simply the best and with affordable price.
We will definitely return back again, maybe when temperatures will be a little higher.
