Fawlty Towers

Do not go there if you don’t speak italian. Very unfriendly reception from the older lady at the reception that only speaks Italian and does not want to communicate in any other language. Room not clean and they didn’t clean it during our stay. We paid a 130 euro per night so it’s quite expensive too. Only plus: the pool.

Winter Trip
Opinión escrita el 1 de enero de 2020
The Hotel and cleanliness was fine. Toilets were clean and towels replaced daily. We had a family room with plenty of space available and large TV in the room. Shower pressure was excellent, toilet was also equipped with a hair dryer. Very good and fast Wifi was also provided free of charge. Reception and breakfast needs major improvement as it was very hard to communicate in English, wifi and google translate did help though. Breakfast was a nightmare. Cold restaurant, no hot water, cutlery, milk, tea or coffee unless you asked for it. We had to ask for everything every single day during our 1 week stay. Food was very limited and repetitive. Made you want to have a coffee and leave. Hotel is based in very rural area so a car is a must have. Closest restaurants are within walking distance however if you're looking to have a bigger choice you must go to nearby towns like Giarro or Mascali. Lovely views and close to Mt. Etna. If you're going in Winter season be prepared that there is no heating in the rooms (just an aircon unit which sort of does to job), also no kettle to make hot drinks in the room.

Great hospitality
Opinión escrita el 18 de decembre de 2019
We have just spent four days at the hotel with a school group of 48 students. The rooms were clean and spacious. The strong point is the hospitality of the owners, especially the son who is also the chef. He was happy to cater for any special needs and the ingredients were fresh, oranges from the garden! It must be lovely in spring as the grounds of the hotel are lovely. Would recommend it.

Good location and view, very bad behavior of the staff
Opinión escrita el 4 de octubre de 2019
We spent 4 days there with a group and we liked the location because of the great view: the Etna volcano. What we didn't like was the behavior of the staff, mainly the old lady at the reception who was in fact the manager. She was dressed inappropriately for her position, did not speak English at all, she was stern-faced, quarreled with the visitors, she even told her staff to behave like her. The food was neither good, nor bad. The bread was stiff and not enough for all. No choice for tea, we never had sea food. The rooms were large and clean but furnished as if 2** hotel. There was no device to hang the wet clothes. What is more, lots of mosquitoes and no mosquito net on the windows or balcony doors. I had lots of mosquito bites on my body. So I would not recommend the hotel to anyone.
