We recently came to the Playa to celebrate the wedding of our daughter & wonderful new son-in-law. The magic & history is that both the bride & groom’s grandparents had, for years, brought our families to Mazatlan to celebrate holidays & delightful time together. Where else, then, to begin their new life together? Their wedding planner, Antonio, & the hotel manager, Omar, worked seamlessly together to create a most spectacular setting for wedding magic! From the beautifully appointed bridal suite to assistance with the delightful welcome gifts awaiting guests in their room, every possible kindness & accommodation was afforded those in attendance by hotel staff. Candles, flowers & ocean waves beckoned family & friends to the beautiful seaside terrace overlooking picturesque Deer & Bird Islands for a delightful Welcome Reception featuring delicious local delights. Playa’s Captain Jacks’ restaurant was ours for the delicious Rehearsal Dinner where family & friends could meet/great & celebrate the happy couple! On their wedding day, the expansive upper terrace was converted into a seaside, sunset-lit wonderland, again full of flowers, candles, family photos & a lively Mariachi welcome! A rose petal entrance for the bride was lovingly spread before her by the groom’s “Bestie!” Delicious wedding fare was superbly prepared & attentively served. Before a marvelous evening of music & dancing, a spectacular fireworks display showered blessings & joy on the happy couple! Their love-filled Playa, Mazatlan wedding will remain a great source of joy as beautiful images of that happy time are revisited over & over through all the years ahead!

Mazatlan Vacation-El CID

Been coming here for years with my wife and children way before the pandemic hit. My wife and I returned to this wonderful hotel with our grown up daughter. Our room and views from the El Moro tower were spectacular as usual. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Activities poolside are favorites for my wife and daughter especially the ball toss, bingo, and lotteria. The only reason not to give 5 stars was the addition of Banda music from the beach that interrupted our siesta and the $10 a day per person for WiFi. With 3 of us that is $150 for a five day stay for internet that comes free for guests in US hotels. I haven’t been here for a while so maybe these charges are common in Mexico. I know one thing - We are definitely returning to this hotel. Love it.

Hotel Playa Mazatlan is on the North end of El Malecon and sits in a great area for beaches and shopping. The hotel is clean, staff is friendly, and food is really really good. Hector Morales at the front desk on check-in was fantastic. He was very helpful when we arrived and also helped us out numerous times while we were there. If you need something while staying, ask Hector. Just make sure to leave him some gratuity when you depart. Staff like Hector make staying here that much better!

Amazing shows, dancers and location!

I loved my stay at Hotel Plata Mazatlan. The location and beach are amazing. The highlight for me were the shows permed by their terrific dancers. They are professional and very talented and always had a great variety that changed daily. I found myself staying in to eat in the evenings to see their latest, greatest production. Very ugh worth it just to see them perform!

Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at

Reviewed 22 august, 2021

Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. I don’t understand all the good reviews. Rooms are nasty, beds are hard, no bedside tables or drawers in the rooms, closet has no door. Pool water is almost black. Don’t get me started on the buffet. So disgusting the food looks like they made it with their eyes closed and then they let it sit for a few days. Looks like vomit. Not COVID friendly. That’s your ‘all inclusive’. They couldn’t even get my Sprite right. They brought 7Up that tasted like water with a tiny bit of sugar, no ice. It’s ok I didn’t want ice in this sauna weather. I woke up with a bunch of bug bites and so did everyone else in my group. This is also a kid friendly hotel so it doesn’t help that there are a bunch of annoying little kids running and screaming all day. Moral of the story: don’t stay here. Gross. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.
