Pleasantly surprised and good value

I was wary of booking this hotel having never stayed here before. I saw some mixed reviews of good and bad. I found much to be good! The front desk seemed to me to be the GM; if it was, he was very welcoming. He noted that I was a veteran and made a point to say thanks. I found the room to be in serviceable order; I had no complaints whatsoever with it. The hotel is plagued by the same thing many hotels are- a strong and persistent marijuana smell. I don't pass any judgement, but it is an annoying smell. The breakfast is a full one, not a continental. The wait staff really hustle to fill the orders. That alone made the stay outstanding compared to other like-priced hotels. I 'd stay again.

Run down drug hotel not safe

Was there a week and they did not clean my room not once. There are low income people staying there in which they get a government subsidy more than likely. I don’t have any thing against this, but I encountered several people that were clearly on meth or some other drugs. There were nightly drug deals going done in the parking lot that I witnessed. When I went to check out and wanted to speak to the manager they said he was to busy cooking breakfast. I will not ever stay at this place again.

Don’t be fooled by positive reviews on choice rewards

We stayed one out of 2 planned nights. After check in at 3:35pm our room had not been serviced by the cleaning staff (the door was open and linens were on the floor) so we were assigned another room, which didn’t have hot water. When we went to talk to the front desk staff they told us that there were only so many boilers and if other rooms are showering then we may not have hot water and to try showering at different times (it was 4pm). She said “we can’t move you AGAIN because we are booked for the night” in a frustrated tone as if we had belligerently requested another room and not that ours wasn’t ready. We were awoken by someone pounding on our door and yelling to get in around 3am. The following morning we still did not have hot water. The room itself was clean in a relative sense, but shoddy construction and some downright unsafe conditions (exposed copper wire and receptacle covers held in place by cords) were the icing on the cake.

Even though this hotel needs some cosmetic updates, our stay was extremely pleasant. The staff in the dining area was exceptional. I have never seen such happy and friendly employees. The breakfast is free and the food was delicious. The price was most affordable. As I stated previously, the hotel needs a lot of TLC, but since we spent most of our time at the beach and golfing, that didn’t bother us one bit. Besides the owner was having a lot of work done during our one week stay. Also, there is a nice golf course (10.00 for 9 holes) right next door! And your 15 min from the beach. And 5 min from the best bakery around! There is a bar/restaurant on site for dinner which we were too busy to try. I would definitely come back and stay again!

Blood on sheets

Got to the room, there was someone else's sock on laying on the couch in the room. Additionally, there was BLOOD ON THE SHEETS and something brown/black mashed on them. There was a cigarette hole burnt into the sheets. The water pressure was low and the water was cold. Ended up paying DOUBLE what I would have to stay at another hotel for the weekend.
