Service is disappointing!
This hotel does not treat loyal rewards members as I would expect. I had a very difficult day of traveling and due to a canceled flight and circumstances out of my control, I was unable to make my reservation. I understand that it is Marriott’s policy that reservations need to be canceled within 24 hours, but, I also understand that it is at the hotel’s discretion to enforce this policy. I had other teammates traveling on the same flight as me and they were staying at a different Marriott property and an exception was made given the circumstances. Also, the Airport Marriott we ended up spending the night at also informed me that exception can easily be made if the hotel chooses to. My flight was delayed over 12 hours and when we finally arrived in Orlando (after 18 hours of travel), which was just before midnight, the rental car company had not held my car and they were all closing so I was stuck at the airport. I had no way to get to the hotel which was an hour away. I had no choice but to stay there and spent the night at the Airport Marriott. I made several calls to the hotel through the day informing them of my delays and the only respond I received was simply "sorry there was nothing they could do". I can understand if I just simply canceled the room last minute for no reason but that is not at all what happened. It is very disappointing that they would treat a loyal member this way. Additionally, I was the only person traveling with my daughter’s softball team that was not granted that exception across multiple hotel chains.
Mediocre customer service
We stay at this property about 3 weeks/ year with our grandchildren when we visit our daughter. Room is nice, but front desk personnel leave much to be desired. I am a Marriott member and they have never greeted be as such or thanked me for being a member. The staff at the front desk is often behind closed doors and wait to see you on camera before they come out. Or they are outside smoking. Definitely not what I have come to know from the Marriott brand. We will be trying the brand new Hilton next door on our next visit.
Good hotel
Comfortable hotel. Recently built. Good beds and towels. Unfortunately the breakfast was limited due to COVID-19 but they did a good job with what they could present. Shields at check in for the staff. Good location near shops and restaurants
Covid19 2020
I have stayed at this hotel several times prior to covid19 and it has always been very good. However, in this new world we live in, I was extremely disappointed to recently check in and not see 1 sign posted about social distancing or wearing masks. Upon checking in, the hotel staff at the front desk did not wear masks which really felt irresponsible to me. I had read on the Bonvoy/Marriott corporate page that they were taking precautions but this is not the case at this property. The corporate website also indicated that sanitizers would be present on the property and there wasn't one hand sanitizer to be found. The cleaning people did wear masks and are not allowed in your room after it is cleaned the first time. This is great protocol. I did call Bonvoy/Marriott corporate and file a complaint as it was extremely disappointing to me when I checked in. Again, normally it is a great hotel but during these times I would expect them to step up and protect themselves and their customers.
Good property reasonably priced - close to restaurants and shop
Stayed here for a couple of nights while on business trip to Cocoa Beach on the coast - it's a 30 min drive but the hotels at CB were reasonably priced so decided to give this location a try. Was not disappointed - is the relatively new, in a large mix used development that seemed to have been recently created as well. There is a large choice of the restaurants within short driving distance and the hotel has ample outdoor parking. Basic breakfast and a new gym. Would definitely consider staying here again. Near to 95 freeway.
