Ok for a single night if You have catch a flight next day...
Basic hotel in the vicinity of the airport. You can walk to the hotel in 25 minutes with a big suitcase with wheels. Bus line 1 or 48 will only take a few minutes. Line 48 only runs once an hour from mon-fri and costs 1,60 €. Hotel is basic. A room, a good double bed, bathroom, airconditioning and wifi. Breakfast was nothing special but only option unless You want to grab something in the airport. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. If You want to go downtown (which You should if You want something nice to eat) You can take either of the two mentioned busses. It will take just less than an hour and You will get off at Gare St. Jean (if You take line 1). From there You need to walk for half an hour to the city center. There is free parking outside. From midnight to early next morning the area is quiet. 3 1/2 * - good - for a single night!
Great breakfast
Simple hotel close to the airport, wifi is good. A nice surprise was the breakfast. In simple hotels breakfasts are unually very bad not in this hotel. Fresh fruit, yoghurts, lots of breads to choose from, good coffee. The owner or manager was very friendly and helpful. We will gladly come back.
Quiet
I used this hotel for a 36 hour decompression after a 6 month deployment in the Mid-East. I really liked how quiet it was and easy enough to access downtown by bus. At first I thought I would hate the fact there is no attendant but it was negligible. I found the bed a little stiff, but I have a bad back and generally find most hotels to be uncomfortable. The heating/AC unit was silly. Staff was awesome.. helped me with everything I needed.
To be avoided if possible
Stayed for two nights. The rooms are quite small and everything is dated. It needs refurbishment, the building itself is very picturesque but the interior needs tlc. There was no cleaning up the room and making up the bed after our first night. As we returned late at night, there was nobody to address this issue. That is not acceptable at all. The staff had little knowledge of surrounding areas of interest e.g. Wineries. This is Bordeaux, people come here for the wine! The restaurant across the road is the only saving grace, it's superb and staffed by really great people.
Basic- close to airport
We stayed at this Hotel, as we were watching the Wales Euro 2016 game in Bordeaux. The hotel is situated approx 5 mins in a Taxi from the airport. We booked a twin room, which was clean, but very small and basic. There was only 1 socket to charge phones etc. The shower was not the best, but the bathroom was clean. We did not have breakfast, as there did not appear to be much choice. The receptionist was friendly and helpful, The hotel is a long way out of the centre of Bordeaux and getting in and out can cost a bit in Taxi fares. We managed to catch a local bus in (approx 10min walk from the hotel) or you can go back to the airport and catch the airport bus into town. so in conclusion, this would be a cheap option if you were arriving at or travelling from Bordeaux Airport and needed an overnight stay.
