Founded in 1962 in Santa Barbara, California, the hotel chain is synonymous with great travel value. The first hotel in Santa Barbara still carries the torch today, but a lot has changed for the motel chain that pioneered the first real economy motel designed for the no-frills traveller. The air-conditioned hotel has a lobby and Internet access. Basic room amenities include an en suite bathroom with a shower, double bed, direct dial telephone, TV and a radio, while wireless Internet...

Travelling with 3 large breed dogs

Reviewed 19 january, 2020

The lady at the front made an exception and allowed us to chcek in with 3 large breed dogs although the policy says only 2 are normally allowed. This was definitely a budget hotel and as such we had a strange man who looked homeless or high knock at our door. We obviously do not answer the door and he went away. A short time later we began to have serious issues with the smell of smoke in our non-smoking room. I gave the front desk lady ( different lady) a call and she aplogized, told us that they in the prcess of converting the smoking rooms into non smoking, that we would continue to have a problme all night because its coming thru the vent. She loves us a couple doors over and had no problem at all. We had no further problems and had a good nights sleep.

On weekends, the amusement park across the street yells over an intercom and sets off sirens until midnight. Cigarette burns in the bedspreads. Filthy parking lot. Tiny room. Not worth the cost savings. Never again.

Just Dont

This by far is the worst motel 6 experience Ive had in a long time. I reserved this hotel because its the only one by Sunsplash within walking distance. The positives of my experience was the room was clean and pool was nice and refreshing. The front desk lady was'nt sure if she could find my reservation, then after looking did. I reserved a room non smoking and with a microfridge. Did not get one. Opened up the door and the room smelled of dank smoke and marijuana yuck. The sink would not drain so had to look at that crude everytime I wash my hands. The mattress ( both) had major butt indentions on the most used sides, so uncomfortable. This location draws live-ins here so beware. It seems that management would update the beds and make sure that non smoking rooms would not have smoke, after all this location is next to an amusement park, not in some dingy downtown neighborhood. Will not stay here again.

Great staff and location

Reviewed 13 april, 2019

The staff is always so polite here and the location is great! Only problem is sometimes we get the crazy ones in the room next to us, last night we got a drunk couple that fought all night ~ luckily I brought my headphones. Also there is security at this location, we will definately be back!

To anyone looking to make reservations at the Motel 6 Mesa North, the pictures of the facility are dated and grossly inaccurate. I would not recommend that anyone, unless strapped for cash, stay at this location. The cost saving is not worth the sharp decline in cleanliness and personal security. If staying for the cost savings, plan to stay in doors after dark and plan for the poor upkeep and hygiene. Below is an account of the events which led to our brief stay and this review: My wife and I arrived late to Motel 6 Mesa North after a delayed flight out of Phili with plans to stay one night in Phoenix before driving to Sedona for our honeymoon. Upon arrival there was a security guard on site and a group of sketchy people lingering outside the lobby. We checked in and unloaded our luggage in the room. The sheets had cigarette burns and there was standing water and hair in the bathtub and sink in the bathroom. My wife was uncomfortable and wanted to leave; tired and hungry we decided to get dinner and discuss our options. While at dinner, my wife and I actually discussed if it was worth it to run to a drug store to buy cleaning products and clean our room before showering and sleeping... we decided it to be best (and safest) to check out and search for another hotel to stay overnight. We returned to the hotel slightly over 1 hour after check in to check out. At that time I requested a refund, to which the receptionist cited that since my reservation was made through Expedia and it had been over 1 hour it would not be possible to issue a refund. She apologized and recommended that I contact Expedia. We left and found lodging at the Courtyard Marriott down the road which was clean, safe, and welcoming. I contacted Expedia the next morning. I explained the circumstances, as I am in this review, and requested a refund. Expedia responded in ~48 hours stating that the Motel Mesa 6 had reviewed my request and has chosen to deny reimbursement. Despite this loss, my wife and I are satisfied with our decision not to stay overnight at the Motel 6 Mesa North.
