So bad it was almost surreal

Reviewed 25 january, 2022

I'll start with the positive - good location, prompt check-in, very cordial maintenance man. Now to the surreal... here's what to expect: If you check into Room 830 - expect to throw away your disposable slippers after your stay as the carpet is filthy (dirty, visible red stains, full of dust bunnies). Don't attempt to move the "stylish" wood trash container in the living area as the bottom of is entirely detached and could cause you to get splinters. Thank me for not having to worry about the heavy metallic shower handle falling on your foot as you take a shower... the cordial maintenance man fixed it once I called the front desk to call out the obvious flaw to their attention (which could be noticeable by any housekeeper if they really cleaned the showers... do they? not sure). Don't worry, your kid didn't tear the fabric on the chair in the corner of the room... it was already torn and raggedy. Also, as a bonus, it appears that Double Tree is now providing paper plates and chargers... look for these amenities in between your bed and the night stand. Need to use a glass? Make sure to check first as dried up coke stains from the previous guest may be lingering; prefer to use a paper cup? None to be found... call the front desk and wait for about an hour. Want to have your room cleaned? Make sure you plan in advance - they require 24 hour notice for this very uncommon activity. If you interact with housekeeping - expect to be told in a not-so-friendly manner that you shouldn't be in your room because you're checking out even though you have a reservation for another day; explain to them that there must be a mistake only to be told you that, if you want your room cleaned, you need to hurry up and leave. If you interact with valet parking attendant after returning from dinner - expect to be rudely confronted if you removed the parking tag from the rear view mirror and the ticket from the key. While you may be concerned about flashing the fact that your a tourist, or simply want a better view as you drive through the city, you need to think about the discomfort and extra effort you are causing the valet parking attendant (how inconsiderate of you as a guest!) If you plan to go to the pool - don't! The water is just freezing... no explanation for this one. It's not the first time I am vacationing in 60 / 70 degree weather and made use of unheated pools; never had I experienced water temperatures to be so low. Brrrr! If I was you, I'd stay away... unless you are into this kind of thing! PS - I opted for a Holiday Inn Express @ El Doral for my late arrival into the Miami area, and I can assure you that it was cleaner, better maintained and had friendlier staff than this one. Funny!

Nice location and Grounds, Service can be Questionable

Reviewed 20 january, 2022

The location is good and the rooms are decent. The service is questionable though. I was ensured multiple times that there was a resort credit on my account, but the last charge did not reflect it. My room was also missing a chair for the work desk. I have stayed multiple times before, but the service seems to be going in the wrong direction

Don't go there

Reviewed 19 january, 2022

This must be the worst hotel I've ever stayed out couldn't believe I had to ask for room to be cleaned fresh towels or bed linen 24 hours in advance and as for the breakfast dont bother it's overpriced and disgusting and then to top it all overcharged me on price I'd agreed with booking. Com and now refuse to pay it back and as for booking.coms customer service it's as much use as a chocolate fireguard

Jackie was our server and she was very helpful! The food was delicious and the great service made our experience that much better! Highly recommend the Spanish wrap and their side of potatoes with any meal!

Great customer service

We really appreciate all of the dining staff that provided services to us this morning. But Jackie was truly warm and inviting the minute we stepped in. The meal was great but Jackie’s kindness and professionalism made the meal more enjoyable!
